The guy who ended iloveoov's 23 game win streak against zerg. The first OGN Starleague zerg champion. The first zerg holder of the Golden Mouse. The guy with the most monstrous winning percentage versus protoss, and undefeated against protoss players in any BO5 series. The legend who started to abuse the micromanagement of his units versus unsuspecting enemies just like SLayerS_'BoxeR' did before him. The guy who stuck with his shitty, poorly managed team despite having to give up his earnings to support his comrades, whilst simultaneously carrying his teamates in the ProLeague by playing 1v1, 1v1 off-race (and winning!), 2v2, as well as the ACE match, and ultimately playing a vital part in leading them to be the ProLeague champions in 2006. He was never meant to be this great. He used to be just a mediocre terran player on a dying team, but his will to succeed, his rigorous training took the zerg race to a new level. He introduced the power of mutalisk with proper micromanagement, and utilized it in all three match-ups, and micromagement tricks taken for granted nowadays like mutalisks stomping over bionic force, or mass scourges paved way for a brand new method of playing the zerg race. He's the guy that raped corsairs with his "Turn of the Tide" moment two years before Jaedong made it popular. He made the famous minimap rape gifs with his supreme macromanagement versus TheROCK[3.33]. He was so stylish that even if he didn't have quite the guile of [NC]...YellOw before him, or the finesse of ipxzerg[gm] who took his throne as the king of zerg, it didn't matter because you could always rely on him to produce awesome games. If he was more marketable as a player, he would have been much more celebrated as a player. Still one of the greatest of all time, despite all the hardships he endured as a professional gamer.

July is one of my favorite players. This piece, while short, does justice to a player who, despite his flaws, doesn't get enough credit sometimes. I can still watch the 2008 EVER OSL finals over and over and be amazed. Master class of planning, mind games, strategic and tactical execution, dictating the pace from start to finish. BeSt was completely broken down. Glad to see him back.

I've been downloading July's past broadcasts and watching them and I want to do a sort of recap of what he's done so far. July has been teetering on the border of E and D rank for a while and recently has made it to rank 143 on Fish ladder and is now a solid D rank player. His record currently sits at 117 wins, 109 losses, and 3 disconnects. July played some notable people from the past and the present. He played Britney(the person he played his last televised match against). He talked to HerO who July was kind of like a mentor to when they were on STX Soul(kind of like Jaedong with Killer). July has played Ssak and Bisu and in all of the aforementioned games, he has lost including against some players' offraces. Playstyle wise he is still the same as before with an affinity for aggression and uses some uncommon builds such as 2 hatch lurker, 3 hatch lurker vs. T but is mostly standard in the other two matchups. Most games do not extend to the late game and end quickly. July sometimes masses units during the midgame such as 5 hatch hydra and defiler/lurker/ling push sacrificing economy which has garnered mixed results. July's ZvZ is standard and probably his best matchup at the moment and his ZvT and ZvP seem mostly the same in skill level. July 's massing style reminds me of Hero except somehow he ends up with 5 less control groups than Hero and gets stomped by Protoss. MC(retired sc2 player) and Shark have made brief appearances on July's stream. July watched a mokbang (eating show) of a guy(pretty fit too) eating 8 burgers in under 2 minutes. He watched the same guy in a recorded broadcast engage in an eating competition with Terror. They had to eat 5 cups of spicy instant ramen and some dumpling looking things. Terror dumped all of his spicy noodles onto the table and ate them voraciously while shirtless. The fit guy beat Terror by far with Terror having 2-3 more cups of spicy ramen worth of noodles to eat. July was inspired and shortly after decides to compete against Terror in an eating competition. They both have to eat 10 hamburgers and 10 cans of energy drink in under 10 minutes. Neither person manages to finish the food in under 10 minutes. In the end July has eaten 5 and a half burgers, and drunken 5 energy drinks. Terror has eaten 5 burgers and drunken 5 energy drinks. Terror starts to argue with July that eating half of a burger doesn't count and that the competition is a tie. MC makes an appearance and eats a burger at July's request. July talks with Terror and watches his stream for 30 minutes afterwards. July defeated Free on the map Nostalgia, his first win against a progamer so far. July is somewhat enthusiastic and expressive whenever he wins or loses games waving both hands in the air. July reminisces watching his bo5 series against Best in the 2008 OSL finals and has watched previous games vs. Bisu during the Kespa scene on Youtube. Great recap. Thanks for a summary!

Other than EffOrt, it seems like only July likes to use 2 hatch/ 3 hatch lurker openings. Nostalgia always seems to be the map where July does his magic.
