Late reply, but yes. I get lots of games vs koreans while I'm playing from norway. They lag a lot, but luckily it doesn't happen all the time.
Hey guys, just a quick question: since BW is still very niche, I suppose most people playing are oldschoolers and experienced? Cause I would like to ladder a bit, but is there even an ELO like "bronze" existing in this game? EDIT: Europe btw.
Yes, that would be F-rank I guess. You'll have to play a few placement matches before you can start the actual laddering. If you're totally new to BW you shouldn't be surprised to lose most or all of these games and be put on the lowest rung. As you assume correctly, most people who play BW nowadays have done so for a long time and even people slightly above the lowest ranks will be rather skilled (relatively speaking). There might even be quite a big gap between the lowest and the highest F-rankers. Also, because the playerbase is rather small overall, you can expect to be matched against better players from time to time.
Shouldn't stop you from having some fun on the ladder though.

Come join us on Discord. We've got people on all levels and the atmosphere is very friendly. :-)

yes I will try, also just curious how it goes. I figured I play some campaign again, just to get a feel for the game. Then let´s see.
