Poll: How do you feel about Sbenu GSL?
Ambivalence, largely... veering slightly negative.
As long as it doesn't interfere with Sonic/SBENU's BW activities, I'm all for it, especially if it furthers the SBENU brand and empire...but sadly, I imagine Sonic and SBENU's marketing department only have X number of hours in the day such that some of the time and resources dedicated to SC2 or LoL would be at BW's expense

oh wow sonic is going all out. its great for him but its definitely going to have at least a marginal influence on the BW tourney (in terms of scheduling/timing/prizepool)
(and honestly i dont visit sc2 section anymore so i was initially confused when BD made that brief post. could at least state in the post what that is? for the BW purists

It is frankly tragic that not all the money in the world is spent on my personal interests and hobbies. It is wasteful and repulsive.

^ Exactly! This guy gets it!
hmm tough to call it but I went with supportive. I don't have issues with Sonic doing what he wants, after all, his money, his company and such. I feel that if he wants to sponsor everything e-sports under the sun, he should be able to and I don't think criticism of such a move is that warranted. In the end, he doesn't owe us anything.
BW is also his passion while SCII sponsorship is just to reach out to other players and get them introduced to SBenu. Does this mean SSL11 will have poor production and such? Not necessary, no. I'm happy to have tournaments continue and I'm supportive of what Sonic does so long as it doesn't involve him axing his support for BW.

There needs to be money spent on my food as well.

I feel a bit uncomfortable with Sonic's move with an even slighter hint of antagonism. But, it is his money so nothing we can do there.
As long as the esports industry prospers (along with it BW), I'm cool.

SBENU has a lot of money and i doubt there's much more to their involvement than cutting a cheque, so good for him for supporting other esports.

You waste time and money on eating food? HAH!
I sustain myself purely on minerals and gas mined in game.

I've created script which is monitoring twitch 24/7 for Bisu's stream. If such transmission is found, it will save this transmission. I will upload them all the time on link bisustreams. Unfortunately my monthly tranfsfer limit isn't too impressive. So it is likely to block downloading at end of the month, maybe often.

+ Show Spoiler +Sorry Sonic, I think this is a terrible idea. SC2 has proved massively unpopular in Korea, due to severe gameplay design flaws (to the point where interest decreased so much that arenas were mostly empty, and the game was not viable as an esport). It is not a well designed -and has not proved to be an interesting- game; it is not positive to associate a brand with SC2, especially for a Korean company - boredom and disinterest. Broodwar and LoL have proved to be popular; if you want to advertise/support esports more, expand in these areas, or another game. But SC2 is among the worst choices, if not the worst.

Bisu usually has a couple of thousand viewers watching him. For earning, it's quite possible he's earning that much but someone else will have to verify that. As for bubbles, you probably mean balloons lol. Afreecan viewers can donate balloons to the streamer which get converted into money. Afreeca does take a cut though I don't remember how much (I think around 70% or so).
Shuttle who is another protoss player (STX captain) was earning about 25,000 a month 1-2 years back and showed his account when someone asked (how we know). Hope someone can link the picture for you. Hope that clarifies some things

Yeah, Bisu makes thousands from viewer donations. He doesn't stream as often as Shuttle, but he's a lot more popular. Each balloon is worth 100 won, and Afreeca takes 30%, so he gets 70 won/balloon.

according to afreecatv.char the cashout rate actually varies between 60-80%, not sure how the rate is determined, maybe you can cash out more if you are popular?

It's the basis of money matches as well between streamers Cash out rates vary from person to person. 60% to BJ is the standard rate for everyone, but it can go up to as high as 80%.

ya basically if your a regular BJ you get 60%. if you are a best bj 70%. if your a partner BJ 80%. actual rates might be slightly different but thats how ppl say it is
