All there is at the moment is one side of the story and so far there are four pages of massive anti-SC2, anti-Blizzard circlejerk, filled to the brim with hate and hyperbole. Sure, the current state of BW is nothing to be too happy about. But if this is TeamLiquid's reaction to the issue (or at least TL's BW crowd), then please, don't act surprised if TL and the "Broodwar elitists" are met with disdain everywhere else.
This may be one of the last great bastions of BW fandom on the web, this may be your little club to hang out and socialize, but you're doing an abysmal job of representing the oh-so "mature" StarCraft community. What is the mature and reasonable reaction you are expecting? If after 12 years, all the SC2 tourneys got shut down or tranitioned into MOBA games. All the pros and casters retire or switch to MOBA games. And then one guy started up a SC2 tourney because he's passionate about it. And then a bunch of the old SC2 pro's started showing up. And then Tastosis said they'd like to cast the finals. So you're super psyched. And then Blizzard drops a cease and desist two days before the tourney?
What other reaction is there?

Ugh. dam this.. i complete agree with this -_- Translation please! Translation: "This isn't it... if there are two games, just let the people choose what they want to play. At least leave (brood war) alone for those who still enjoy it, it's wrong to kill it off like this. In the past, let's say it was due to KeSPA (the contract-pay saga)'s fault, but now, this is a personal thing so at least adjust the (license fee) accordingly. Just stabbing (the brood war fans) like this is wrong"

blizzard is a shit but what can we do, cant stop them law is on their side, and sc2 is very popular outside korea

The anger here is fully understandable. SSL gave a glimmer of hope to a new BW scene in Korea when most bw fans thought that it had died with the decline of MSL/OSL. It had so much potential, juice girls, a studio, kim carrier for finals! Sonic has a diehard fanbase though and i think he'll work it out somehow.
A more troubling aspect of this is the lawsuit against afreeca and that the barrier for starting up a little tournament is raised, very hard for new people to organize something without a large fanbase.
That said, + Show Spoiler +

Sonic had a vision for the revival Broodwar and was set to share his incredible love for the game, reigniting the passion and hope of many other BW fans who had thought it was gone .....
Seriously, this development is the most heart-breaking thing for him, and for me too.

The finals will play out no matter what. first off regarding my unskilled handling of licenses, and making you all, viewers and players, have to wait and for those ppl who put time and hardwork into helping me. I'd like to sincerely apologize. Whatever happens I will resolve this correctly. I will try to run things as professionally as possible. I'm sorry
