Seriously blizzard FUCK YOU and go die in a fucking hole or something. While this may not totally kill SSL, it certainly fucks up everyone that had invested in preparing a pretty awesome finals and what was a nicely run tournament. All there is at the moment is one side of the story and so far there are four pages of massive anti-SC2, anti-Blizzard circlejerk, filled to the brim with hate and hyperbole. Sure, the current state of BW is nothing to be too happy about. But if this is TeamLiquid's reaction to the issue (or at least TL's BW crowd), then please, don't act surprised if TL and the "Broodwar elitists" are met with disdain everywhere else. This may be one of the last great bastions of BW fandom on the web, this may be your little club to hang out and socialize, but you're doing an abysmal job of representing the oh-so "mature" StarCraft community. Hate to say it, but your missing alot of the points here. Im not sure about anti-SC2, but it IS definitely an anti-blizz circlejerk and for obvious reasons. Let me explain why people are this irritated: 1) This IS the big tournament now. Best players, best action, best production. It's the equivalent of shutting down an OSL/GSL/MLG. 2) Precedence - Blizzard has, throughout its history, never cared about what people did with BW in perhaps anything more than name only. Suddenly they jump in and decide to fuck up a tiny, but significant tournament for no real reason. The profit from the tournament is somewhere between minimal and non-existant. The guy that runs it is just a business owner that loves Broodwar. A good analogy here for why everyone is so mad is imagine Sonic is a farmer and blizz the owner of the land. The farmer pays for everything: his seed, fertilizer, water, tractor, etc. from the money he makes from his telemarketing job. He then uses the crops to help food his neighbors. On the eve of his harvest, the landlord comes in and says: "sorry, your not allowed to touch this land, we may need it for something and you'll have to go through our processing to get it straightened out. In the meantime, all the crops wither and die. I think we would all agree that the landlord is certainly within his rights of what he can do, but that doesn't make him any less of complete fucking douchebag. What's allowed is not always what is right. 3) Douchebaggery - They let this whole tournament run unhindered until the finals venue was decide, sponsors lined up, notable commentators ready to role...and then just a few days before the finals play their cards. By waiting this long they ensured their was nothing Sonic could do. It hurts the integrity of the tournament, the hype, and those helping sponsor. Had blizzard given reasonable notification Sonic could easily have had plenty of time to resolve the issues with difficulty, but by waiting blizzard smoothly ensured the tournament would get fucked over. Now do me a favor, and kindly get out of here with your clueless talk and ignorance. Damn straight it's an anti-blizzard circle jerk and by god is it deserved. If you paid more attention to the events going on and stories behind them this all would have been obvious and you wouldn't be coming in here and accusing people of random hate. You basically just did what you accused all of us with doing, only replace hate with ignorance.

LOL WHAT OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY??? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????????? What's most indicative of Blizzard's intentions is that they sent a copyright notice to Nowcom about Broodwar, but not SC2. Not that SC2 on Afreeca gets any viewers in the first place (GOM rents out a 2k capacity room on afreeca and only gets 300 views lmfao). Since when the fuck do they send out copyright notices regarding BROODWAR STREAMS???? Oh, when it's been crushing SC2 in terms of popularity I guess ............... please, present me the other side of the story. DEFEND BLIZZARD FOR ME. Btw, BW license for tournaments is prohibitively expensive (Sonic is not a poor man btw) .. for those ppl who didn't read the OP and are saying Sonic's at fault for not filling out some oh-so-easy form or wtf shit you're talking about.

With Valve getting an official partner in South Korea to release Dota 2, I wouldn't be surprised to see more Korean Dota 2 players rather than Korean HoTs players.

Well, there is no company with position like Blizzard's, so the answer would be probably noone else. Not becouse they are nice and not care about the money, but becouse noone else had a game like BW in a country like Korea.

there are only diehard fans left for bw and there's no chance that this amateur tournament will take anything considerable away from sc2. this is just a dick move for no good reason.

I am going to say a prayer for Sonic, hoping something good comes of this, I cannot believe Blizzard is shoving SC2 in peoples faces, I guess it is obvious which is the better game. T_T God bless sonic, keep your head up and don't worry everyone here at TL is hoping for the best.

It just isn't identical to BW.
