Until I obtain a license for the finals I am not able to do anything. Whether its the SinbalFarm Offline or the Online Broadcast.. What...? So Sonic's been streaming Event matches, and SSL tournaments (this is season 7) for how long? Now blizzard steps in at the last moment and says he needs a license.. Sucks because he's been putting his own funds into this. Is Sonic saying he won't be able to broadcast anything on afreeca until this gets resolved or only SSL?

This is one of those things that's so fucked up I can't help but laugh.
|
I still think the blame is on both parties. Though, I'm wondering why Blizzard just stepped in.

What the hell? Now I'm just depressed.

Can anybody ask Sonic what's the problem there? Will he try to reach an agreement with those idiots?

But of course not, this is all about how blizzard is trying to kill bw, and how sc2 is a shit game. get over yourselves.
Even the translation sounds overly dramatic about how depressed he is. I'm sure he put in a lot of time, but all of that time, didn't include a 5 minute form fill out or email to blizzard korea to make sure he was given the okay? LIke he said, to obtain the license he will take 2 weeks, but that's probably because blizzard has to make sure his tournament is legit and won't misrepresent the name Blizzard. Welcome to the real world people, where if you're running anything large enough to an audience under someone else's licensed product, you need to receive permission. I tried my best to translate as accurately as possible.. that was the tone in the which the message was conveyed even down the dots......................

he cant risk re-organising it knowing that twitch or any other service will very likely shut it down as soon as it goes live

Oh how Blizzard has fallen. Blizzard used to be the golden company where everything they put out was a day 1 purchase but after they got eaten out by Activi$ion, they've done nothing but put out a slew of poorly executed games. I've tried playing sc2 and d3 in earnest but the love & excitement and love in their games is simply gone. And this? this is just laughable. For the first time in a long time, I don't see myself picking up HotS at all.

I guess thats true but the translation states that Blizzard doesn't really just have a problem with him but with afreeca/Nowcom due to copyright issues.
obviously i'm not thinking clearly.

Alright idiots, if you wanna play BW, then play BW. Don't go and try to force us to make SCII into BW; they're different games.
BTW, we're gonna kill BW apparently.
User was temp banned for this post.

Anyone doubting the malicious intent of Blizzard should keep in mind that they waited until like 3 days before the finals... the only round where Sonic decided to actually rent a venue.

what?
of course we can continue playing BW but that doesn't have anything to do with this.

Well that's a shame. That means I'm going to have to stop myself from participating in anything Blizzard related outside my FTP copy of Brood War ever again. So now, even if 10 years down the line they stop being fuckwits I still can't go back.

So wait... what happens to the sponsors who paid for advertisement? Seriously how the fuck could sonic have made any money at all from this tournament (under any circumstances), maybe it should have been turned into a non-profit organization or something Oh, and fuck Blizzard!
|
There are few things more enjoyable than watching a bad company run itself into the ground. I mean, it might actually be upsetting if Blizzard were evil in a clever and effective way, but as it is they're just blowing up their brand and proving detractors right at every opportunity. The next couple of years will be a fun ride.
