Hey this isn't really a direct connection with this thead, but I wasn't sure where to ask this question:
I recently redownloaded BW from the Blizzard site (had a game key but no CD key so I downloaded from there).
I tried to log onto Multiplayer, but I received a message saying that there is a virus and that I need to contact blizzard for help. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this issue and if so, where can I find the solution? T.T

I used to run a gateway 2000 with windows 98........my starcraft bw ran like a champion......then I quit playing for a very long time.....its 2013 I have a hp with a intel core I3 now and this computer is awesome......but...I just put in starcraft just to see what happened....and it runs great.. until I win a level or finish a battle. then I get a little box with a big X and it says....{{{{{{the instruction at 0x004bd811 referenced memory at oxooooooo1 the memory could not be read. click ok to terminate the program.}}}}}} So im sure im not the only one. but is there a patch I could download or something that might bring the system back to date with this game? please feel free to email me.....donkey_ak@hotmail.com.... I just wanna rock out on some brood war. So very much appreciated in advance. Kyle!!!

If you have the game key and get it from blizzards site there's a fix for that problem.
get the game, go to iccup.com and download the patcher to put the game in 1.16v and then just run the registry reg file and you got a clean game..

on the other hand.. the game costs about 10bucks..

bump,

just got a new laptop with w8, and each time I get on fish/iccup text doesnt go away, so if I click on the information of the game, like what map it is, it never replaces it self.

has anybody found out how to play this game smooth on w8?

This is normal for Windows 8 and there is no known fix other than W-Mode
