Yeah they were. ESV = ICCUP map-making team, and they used that name when most people in the BW forum last paid attention to SC2. "Ladder version" only really matters for Antiga, unless they allow horizontal spawns on emtombed, which I'm not sure if even the ladder version allows.

ace match in sc2 >< Why couldn't they just let the entire thing be sc2, so I wouldn't have to be torn like this

There's no question in my mind that it should be bw

Q: Are you using special versions of the SC2 maps? A: We are using ladder versions. The reason is because players have just started adjusting, and we also want to use maps that new Starcraft II viewers will be used to. That just reeks of advertising. They should be using the tournament versions if the BW players were to play outside of korea...

The audience they gain from ESPORTS fanboys is going to be nothing compared to the BW fans who desert. The current SC2 fanbase will also probably be halved with the release of Diablo 3. Opening day should get good ratings because of people (like me =P) giving SC2 another chance to impress, but yeah if it still dissapoints then ratings are going to evaporate after the 3rd set for following matches.

Meh. They should have just completely made the switch over or do one last BW, this is ridiculous.

Players who competed in Starcraft 1 will play Starcraft 2 in the next game on the same day (???), and players who competed in Starcraft 2 will play Starcraft 1 in the next game on the same day (???). If this is true that would be the dumbest shit I've ever heard. This will cause for horrible games if there aren't any specialists for the games and they are being forced to play both games. It makes no sense to make them switch mindsets between different games like that, let the teams decide who plays and not the rules...

It's going to disappoint. Even SC2 fans aren't going to be interested in mediocre SC2 once the novelty wears off.

If you want another look at SC2 to see how well it is now I'd recommend looking somewhere else. There's no question in my mind the players are going to suck in both games with this format.
