Playing in the Dual Tourney Goo Sung Hoon (Hiya), “I never thought of moving on into Starleague”.
“Would I make it in Starleague. Thinking of this as the last time, I came to enjoy.”
After dropping out from the Progame Team draft, spending his days as team less Hiya appeared at the Dual Tournament Stage. Since then he has been doing internet streaming showing his game and happily spending his days, Hiya says after hearing about his eligibility of playing that he thought of not entering. He says he thinks of this as the last chance to show fun games, and emptied his mind on playing.
It probably won’t happen but he says even if he moved on to the main stage that he won’t live the progaming life again.
Q. After not being picked up by a team, how have you been?
Hiya – I did internet broadcasting. Lots of games came out, so League and Legends and etc, and spent my days freely.
Q. How is the personal broadcasting on Afreeca? (Korean streaming site) Are you popular?
Hiya – I was more popular than I first thought. Honestly I thought this won’t work out when I first started streaming. Maybe if I had high expectations, I think I would have lost interest in continuing to stream. The popularity was more than I expected, and it was quite fun so I’m currently enjoying it.
Q. Until playing today in Starleague, did you almost have a change of mind, or thoughts of giving up?
Hiya – It was brief, but I did have thoughts of regret playing. While streaming my viewers change often, I kept getting questions about Starleague so that gave me lots of stress. There was lots of flaming as well. Since I’m not part of any professional team; me playing in the Starleague is a funny thought. This is probably the first instance of an Internet broadcasting DJ participating. This will confirm show how much my skills have dropped, so I came.
Q. Even if you are streaming, it is a completely different setting compared to a team. How did you prepare?
Hiya – I could not prepare properly. At least I think I focused on adapting to the maps. The map pools between amateurs and pros are very different. I still don’t know about today’s map completely. Thinking of rather moving on, my thought process today is to do my best and try to be satisfied with the games.
Q. If there was a difficult point in preparing?
Hiya – There was not. Within a pro team, you either play with people on your level or someone on a higher level that can point out problems in your play. For me I have been streaming, the amateurs opponents are very skilled but all around the same level. There is a level gap between a pro and an amateur. Since I have to play people a level higher than my regular games, it makes me nervous.
Q. If you show a good record this Starleague, do you have any intention on entering a team?
A – I never thought of joining a pro team. Honestly, I did not want to come out. I think this time will probably be my last time.
