credible source of info.
It's pretty lolsworthy that ppl would actually take that seriously.

Any confirmation on this yet?

Assuming this does happen and it turns into a BO7, also assuming that bw players> sc2 players, wouldn't it make sense for deep teams to switch over their bw players? For eg KT keeps flash on bw and makes everyone else train sc2, pretty sure stats, hoejja etc would beat any new progamers so that gives kt guaranteed 4/6 wins (cause flash is insta win) everytime.

- Starcraft 2 will be appearing on the proleague soon enough, as Blizzard and KeSPA did manage to come to terms in most of the negotiation.
- Fomos asks about the rumour of SC1-2 proleague, and KeSPA employee replies that while the negotiations regarding SC2 is positive how to implement it is not yet finalized.

A glimpse of light in the dark tunnel. Hopefully this infers that the rumor remains what it is.

I assume the netizen comments can still be translated? How are the netizen reactions to the news?

Only an idiot puts them together. and i watch both games. I don't care if for time sake they make the matchups the same team 8 playing KT in both games same day and SC2 opens for BW. but making the teams sink or sail based on the combine games, would be terrible, and would probably result in the collapse of the current SC2 teams when KESPA teams all buy out the best players from their current teams because they have to for proleague.

just don't understand half the people on this website, it was inevitable, and people act like its some great tragedy. the players arent going anywhere, nether are the teams (hopefully) and it'll still be awesome production so...what exactly is the big deal?

Wat.

I don't know... SC2 is not popular in Korea, so that is why maybe Kespa is trying to get some publicity going for SC2. I really don't like this fusion format, but I thought it was inevitable. Which of the BW players will transfer? What will BW players think about this? They will be discouraged with this fused format. Their soon doomed future is lurking literally right beside them... can't be good for the players.

I see this as a positive sign since it shows that they are trying to keep bw while adding sc2. Much better than if the rumor was that sc2 will replace bw entirely. Of course combining them into some weird Frankenstein tournament seems like a bad idea.
Either way the real threat is that bw and sc2 could eventually be replaced or sidelined by LoL. Which would be a much greater tragedy than a sc2/bw mash-up tournament.

Greatest tragedy for me would be watching an awesome game of Broodwar and than suddenly on set 2 this weird 3d games that looks like starcraft pops up on screen and it isn't even as interesting as broodwar it self . Crowds will go ??? wtf is this .Koreans have been watching pro BW for a very long time and than you force feed them with sc2 . Some fan's may like it, some may not and if kespa gamble fail they may lose the whole fan base thanks to them adding sc2 in to the proleague system.
If you ask me I rather have some other game take the throne of broodwar rather than sc2 .LoL or Dota2 is a much better successor in my opinion.

Meh, if it is replaced by LoL, at least I would have AFK (or IRL) friends to play with. In my circle, I am considered as the most hardcore gamer lol while everyone plays LoL. It would be a nice refreshing change of pace from the hectic workload of playing BW.
Pop up some tunes, Skype it up, log on to LoL while gaming with my pals? Sounds like the good old fashion BW mass game accumulation experience that I had just over 2 years ago.

i don't get it. why does the existence of proleague influence if you play BW or LoL?

I honestly cannot understand you guys at all. How someone would prefer to have the proleague replaced with LoL than to sit through a few matches of sc2. All I can say is be careful what you wish for...

This has nothing to do with what games you play for fun with your friends. With this system pro BW will continue with your suggestion it won't.

Hey you are the one that suggested LoL will eventually be the replacement.

Well, my favourite player is Song Byung Goo. I don't just like him because of the ability to display excellent gaming skills. I am also very fond of his personality. And he have stated that in a distant future, he would make the switch to LoL. Even though BW is on the top of the most challenging/exciting game, wouldn't you still want to check out another game that your idol decide to lay his eyes on? And the fact that many of your peers is a participant of the said game is just icing on the cake that augment the craving.

any1 who thinks this is just a small rumor has clearly not got his head on straight if u guys thought about it for a sec its quite obvious BW is losing steam and fast and if u want competitive brood war to stay alive then u better embrace this because without sc2, BW will fall eventually fall whether u like it or not and even with sc2 BW is nearing the end of the line its a sad truth but life isnt just about having fun they need to make money from this it costs alot of money to run events like this and the money isnt going to BW its going to SC2
User was warned for this post thanks to shitty spelling and grammar.

Considering I love both of those games I really don't mind that format, I'll just get some of both. It does sound really silly though, but if it's really the only way to do it then whatever. Them being seperate would probably be better though.
They could be seperate and together at the same time though. Imagine this : some nights it's SC2, others it's BW. Both count towards the same rankings. And in Playoffs you get a Bo3 or Bo5 (Bo3 like, say Khan has to win 2 Bo7s against KT to advance.. and fail, but that's another story). You alternate between Sc2 and BW for those, and if it goes to the last one, then I don,t know which game it should be nor how to decide it, because I can't think of it atm.
Point being though, you don't directly mix the oranges and apples but teams are encouraged to have a contingent of players from both games (which I imagine is the objective here, get the korean teams with all the korean sponsors to look at SC2 for more than a second) because they'd have better chances of making the playoffs (as in they kinda need some wins in both to get there). And then in playoffs... they get mixed for real. Not ideal still, but better than what they've got I think.
