I personally enjoyed both the cartooniness of WC and BW, but also the "realism" (aliens are real, right?!) of SC2. Mostly up to preference I guess. | ||

The reason why SC2 is so terrible to watch as a spectator sport is not only because of the mundane death balls, but its the way the units push and slide against each other when they are bunched up, like they are all walking on ice. It makes it look very very unprofessional in terms of graphics and is a total turnoff when you are trying to pay attention to the action. | ||

The atmosphere created by the sound effects makes a huge difference. I miss the Overmind ![]() I suppose we shouldn't be extending this conversation in this thread, but I'm not sure if this topic is thread-worthy. EDIT: Thinking back, I realized that from the WoL campaign, the levels that felt the most interesting/intense were the ones on Char...which fit the bill of "grim and dark" pretty well. The altitude of the camera is yet another factor....SC2's camera is way higher, which is why marines look like ants and seem to shoot very short distances, and why BW tanks appear to shoot farther. | ||
