Much respect to all the MBC casters and crew that made it all happen. So much fun up late watching the streams. I loved the whole Korean gaming culture. I will hope for the best amidst this obviously sad news.
MBCGame to shut down? - Page 26
Forum Index > BW General |
Keep any SC2 vs BW comments out of this thread. This is a thread about Brood War and Esports (Tekken Crash, Special Forces, etc) in general. If you discuss what this means for ESPORTS be sensitive about it.

there's one more thing. yesterday, sAviOr said "hey guys, you know what? my hometown is going to be collapse" in his afreeca stream. 'hometown' could mean mbcgame considering he won 3 times on there, but it also could mean cj entus. i hope i'm wrong.

That something so big and mighty can fall is a huge deal. It's like the fall of Rome for BW. ![]() I just hope that this will at least help OGN to make more profit if they can have the whole fan base just for themselves. I mean advertisement targeting specifically the BW fan base will become more expensive and will generate (more) profit for OGN.

This is just terrible news, only slightly blunted by the hilarious amount of red text in this thread. I really hope BW manages to continue, even if it is just ProLeague/OSL from here on out. A complete collapse of BW would be truly tragic, and no SC2 is not a replacement. I, for one, don't care one bit about it. What a sad sad day. I really hope they change their minds.

It feels like the Korean BW scene, and their ESPORTS scene in general, is in danger of slipping away. How can Stork win everything if there's nothing to win? ![]()

You think the staff would leek something like this so there would be a outcry in the community to put pressure on the CEOs or whatever of MBC?
