gundam was a cool character, a down to earth kind of guy, refreshing in the internet scene, im sure he'll be missed greatly by people who still care about bw.
ps. why are people apologizing to grot when gundam quits?- -a

Because grot is the biggest gundam fan you'll ever find -_-;;
Damn, gundam was always someone I cheered for (well, except vs boxer and a few others) ;o

It can't be, gundam didn't retire

I hate yooi. if newbie ass yooi manages to qualify for WCG 2005 in Singapore, I will annihilate him 2-0 under the ID "Vengeance for Gundam"

but the bw scene will be so empty without gundam.. maybe he won't play in liquibition anymore.. I feel so affraid.

Maybe gundam will change his mind! There is always hope. I'll talk to him soon, you'll see.

Who am I kidding..deep down I realise it.. it's over =[

+ it was a waste of my time, when i think about all the time i wasted playing that game and all the money i could have been making, man it sickens me, my guess is gundam realized he couldnt keep up in the pro scene and simply saw that he needed to find a real job, isnt he like 25+?

Your life must be really really sad if all you can think is the money you "lost" playing this game. Didn't you enjoy the time spent? didn't you enjoy making new friends online? Don't you enjoy coming here on these forums and read about all these korean pros?
Is money more important than happiness?

I have enjoyed every minute i spent on this game (except for some very long tvts :D), and i'm a happy man

I kind of don't want him to play and lose because he isn't practicing anymore I don't want his last result to be a loss vs a mediocre player, kind of an insult to his memory

yooi killed him 2-0 and made him feel like retiring

that post wasn't really serious, i wanted to make a denial/anger/fear/hope/acceptance joke, but it seems like nobody got it or else nobody thought it was funny

what can I say? everybody knows me knows that gundam is my number one favourite player and him leaving brood war makes me feel terrible, but it's his life and I hope he does whatever makes him happy.. it's not like he died here guys

but know this; I don't care how much better people will get at bw, I don't care if there will once be a day where the level is so high that the average player is better than gundam was in his prime, gundam will ALWAYS be number one because (to me) nobody else was at his level when brood war was young and getting good required the talent, persistance and insight that only a hanful others like giyom had. You can never outclass a legend.

im glad some of you are finally using the "became a useless man" excuse realising you cant live off of broodwar forever, and in the long run it hurts you as a progamer making a living. Ive been hating this whole sponsored gameplay for a long time precisely because of this. They tantalize youth by dangling petty cash in front of them and demand ridiculous schedules and lifestyles of them so that they can continue to make their millions at the expense of people who suddenly wake up one day 25 with no education or work experience. You think any employer is really gonna give a shit about how famous you are when you cant even work a cash register? Besides fame, rekrul kinda made it seem like progaming isnt exactly as big in korea as well think, but rather this one little niche market that garners a lot of hype. The avg person, including employer, could care less when it comes to affecting their business and their ability to make money.

I think these progamers seriously need to organize some kind of union, and demand higher wages and better working enviroments, etc.
You fuck cows in retrospect

correction... First Grrrr........then Jinnam........then Elky........... then Rekrul......... then Gundam........

Personally I think Hexatron doesn't train enough and has had some bad experiences eithin the team.

if I ever got to be a progamer I would be top 30 within a year and top 10 within 16 months practicing all day every day. Many progamers take there progaming carrees for granted and it rely makes me sad. To be a progamer is to have a dream come true.... this applys for so many people and if you don't have the dream get out of progaming and make room for me ^^;; Practice makes Perfect.

Grot is a Belgian terran player who does nothing but bamboo in tvp.

His entire life is based on this strat. If Gundam died, he would commit suicide.

He posts on teamliquid.net btw ;x

A dream come true? Maybe for you. I think the rest just happened to find themselves in that situation by acheiving a certain level of greatness as they leisurely played. The rest probably stay out of fear of what else are they going to do, or hooked on the fame/"easy" lifestyle in which they are accustomed to. Others may simply have plans with their earnings after their contracts are up, start a business, etc etc. But i seriously doubt you have ever sat down at 10am and played 1 broodwar game after another non-stop until 8pm at night with only a couple of breaks for meals. Try that for one day, and youll probably never want to try again.
You fuck cows in retrospect

I don't think there is any reason to worry about the future of Starcraft or progaming. Nada, for example, said he wants to be the first 30 year old progamer. Nada plays like crazy, is still owning the hell out of people, and still loves the game. Same with Boxer. There are still a lot of oldschool pros that are still hanging in there and doing a good job. Hopefully Gundam will continue to play the game casually.
To the new players of this game, dont worry about the future of BW. This game is immensely enjoyable to players of all levels, from the casual newb player, to the more experienced, to the pro level gamers. Pros will come and go, just enjoy your favorite ones while they are doing their thing.
