Some months ago in a interview Blackman said that he played online games with top pros like Nada or Boxer and he was able to beat them many times. But on wcg when Boxer was at home with a lot of fans and familiar with televised games playing against foreigner who didnt even know what referees are talking to him and who was first time in a final of such a big event. Blackman said he didnt have any chance and that Boxer was simply better.

Might be one of these people. To be honest, people who refuse to evolve with the times don't have the same excuse other older pros like Boxer and Nada do :/ reminds me of this one guy on East who has been playing for 10 years, still has 80 apm and doesn't know how to stack mutas, and refuses to learn anything and talks as if he is the authority on BW over B- players and such. Joining a tourney that is serious enough to be listed in TL when you can't muta micro is ridiculous.

Blackman was the best foreign zerg at a time, first who mastered sauron style. In 2002 the best korean zergs from that era played like yellow with low eco and heavy harass. He had a chance to stay in korea after wcg and play for pro team. I think its enough for foreigner to be considered as one of the best. Although the poster you are responding to did a terrible job of making an argument, your argument in this post is not much better. Why do you think he was so good at macro and so bad in ZvZ? Well, you said it yourself - most Zergs played low-eco, heavy-aggro. By going against the metagame of the time he was more or less a gimmick player like Shine or Action. Even if Shine has the best low-tier aggression and Action has the best hive-tech ZvT, their ability to excel in their own style does not make them even close to the best. I'm not denying that he is good, but he was definitely not THE best - his play-style was too dependent on high-econ play. Also your second paragraph makes close to no sense - either he bragged first then got his ass handed to him so he started backpedaling, or someone made up the fact that he was consistently beating Boxer/Nada online, otherwise why would he say that they are "simply better"? Something to think about.

Mynock: I see ~~. On the pictures it seemed like a pretty crowded, dark place. Knowing you though, I don't think you mind the darkness, but crowdiness? Blackman: No matter how dark it was, it never was dark too much =]. But crowdiness sux. I am a kinda loner, you know. I like my dark room. To be here alone, only with my comp =]. Mynock: Looks like your nickname is somewhat describing your nature then? Any particular reasons to choosing it? Blackman: Something like that. Except my skin I am completely black =]. Mynock: Oh ok. The vampire Blackman. Blackman: Black in everything, yeah. I'm a vampire since 200 years ago. I haven't been human for 200 years now. Mynock: I see you have a pretty elaborated role play there for you ^^. Blackman: Hehehe. Mynock: You live alone, or with parents? Blackman: With parents. With my whole nearest family. Actually my walls are all black. I mean they aren't painted black, but they look like black when I cover up my window. I hate light, you know. Vampires hate light. As well as humans. That's why I play Zerg, and rather Protoss than Terran.

Blackman was an amazing player for his time.

And that comparison to shine and action is wrong. Blackman wasnt zvz specialist but it dont mean he cant play it. Its pretty much the same like with Bisu's pvt, Zero's zvz, or Fanta's tvz. They all still are great players but every one of them is know for something else.
