If I remember, certain stats were assigned to certain matchups, i dont remember the stats names but for example, map knowledge and macro would be key for terran vs terran, whilst micro and build order would be key for protoss vs terran, if memory serves, the game would tally up the stats for each player and then roll some kinda dice with the better player having a better chance of winning. then again i have never seen the code and this is memory from like 2012.

is the salary a per week or per month number? at 5k starting and 3k+bonus per week, 9 players (looking at average salary in the players table i have from excel file) would make money very tight and it'd be hard to save (if it is per week)
edit:nvm, taking the actual average it's only 222, so per week is fine. got it.

games." from tslStrange guide...does this mean first 11 OFFICIAL games give no EXP?

Or once a player reaches a certain age their skills slowly degrade? I have zero idea how any of this is possible since I dont know how to do this stuff.

Either is technically possible, that's not the issue.

I guess if someone started slowly degrading that would force managers to eventually 'sack' them, and maybe we could even not give them gains from training anymore, and maybe they are rarely/never at 100% condition after 25.

In addition to that, y'all might hate it but I really like a random low (weekly) chance after 25 for military service to 'strike' and force a retirement like in real life.

Wait this was the game were you could poach players from other people?

I think I vaguely remember having a lot of work when starting on developing my 2 aces only to be poached shortly after by a long time player. Am i confusing the game?

Yeah there was no poaching in this game. I think that was the SC2 manager.

It was similar to mystarcraft yes. Except you didnt have IRL players (all the players were computer generated with customizable names), and you played vs other managers.

how many teams were in a league? and was there just ProLeague style seasons or were there individual leagues you could enter your players in too? how did that affect your income, player condition, etc?

I think it was 12 teams per league? And for a long time there was the top two leagues named 1.1 and 1.2. Then each of those leagues had 2 leagues that you either got promoted from or to depending on your rank at the end of each season. 2.1 and 2.2 were linked to 1.2, and 2.3 and 2.4 were linked to 1.1

Then we also had Proleague where your players competed in a huge bracket solo. I cant remember the condition it took for each match. But I do recall it was a bit of a struggle if one of your players made it deep into Proleague. It became wise to try and not use them in your regular team matches to keep their condition up.

Ive been sad everyday for years. If I knew how to do rebuild the game I would have by now. Batang is alive and well. Hes in the Shakuras group on Steam, but he changed his name. I think school/life just got in the way. Dubbledore got the closest but then disappeared. Im currently re-reading every page in this thread. Finally got to the page where all my players names are. Talk about sadness. I miss my players so much!

Was there a Free Agency system or mechanic that is different than the World Transfer Market? How did this work?

I'm starting to build the Proleague/OSL/MSL schedule and draft so this thought came up

I believe we did have a giant free agent bidding event but I cant remember how often we did that. But primarily there was just the World Transfer Market. Hows the build going?
