So I got ifranviewer and screenshots work fine for when I'm in a channel.A box comes up asking me for a filename and save location and voila.
When I'm in a game, the box does not pop up asking me for a file name and instead your file has been saved as scsrnbalhblahablh.pcx. So I search .pcx on my computer and can't find it. All I find is the pcx files I took outside games like the ones from inside a channel.
I looked for some old posts on this and creep colony says "Open your StarCraft folder (probably located in C:\Program Files\Starcraft). Your screenshot should be in there as a .pcx file named "screenxx", where xx equals a number. If it is your first screenshot, it will be named "screen00". " http://www.creepcolony.com/submits.shtml
It ain't there in the SC folder. The closeset thing that starts with S is like SCXE Start or something. So I search ".pcx" on vista and there are no such pcx files like that except of some ones I took in the channels.
Looked in an old post http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=113936 didn't have the answer
What would you try next?

Did you install your SC or did you just copy+paste the folder from somewhere?

I'm bumping because I have this exact problem. It wasn't resolved in the original post.
This is what the official blizzard website says on the matter https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/200569
BUT
The .pcx files are not there after I press printscreen.
I use windows 10 I have mcalauncher, not sure that affects anything Using starcraft broodwar

Try checking Screenshot box on mca, choose format - I prefer JPG, then take your screenshot using CTRL+ALT+P. Photo should be in mca launcher's folder.

Just like outscar wrote, right alt + m and You have always good screenshot (original screenshot doest always works)

it's probably your windows blocking the game from writing to program files folder
put the game outside program files.
