[MSL]Jaedong, "Even at this moment I only think about winning"



The Tyrant Jaedong(Hwaseung Oz) has succeeded in entering the MSL Ro8 4 seasons in a row.

On the 29th, Jaedong beat Kal(STX) 2:1 in the BigFile MSL Ro16 Bo3 in group C. In game 2, a loss brought him the match back to square one, but after he prevailed in game 3 he was able to move on to the Ro8. This will be his sixth career MSL Ro8.

- You made it to the Ro8 4 seasons in a row.
▲ I feel rather nonchalant. Since I am setting my sights on the semifinals and finals, I am not particularly overcome by any emotions. I just tried my best in each given game.

- A seed into next season must mean something though?
▲ Making it to the Ro16 and Ro8 don't mean much to me.+ Show Spoiler + Winning the title is what holds the most meaning so I am trying my best to get near it. Winning is ultimately the only way to earn respect. Even at this moment I am only thinking about winning.

- You lost to Kal in game 2.
▲ Of course I know Kal is a good player. But for some odd reason, I have done well against him. In today's games, I feel that we both prepared hard and played fun games. I think that Kal showed his true skills in today's play. Nor did I make any regretful mistakes so I am content.

- Your game plan in game 2 didn't work so well.
▲ I didn't read fully into Kal's gameplay after the damages dealt by the initial zealots. If I had played it out more calmly, I could have rekindled a flicker of hope, but I tried to rush it and bust his nat, which single-handedly lost me the game.

- How did you feel when you entered game3 immediately after?
▲ When I typed GG in game 2 I only thought about game 3. I forgot the loss in game 2 as soon as I typed the letters GG. I just told myself that I have another chance. I tried my best to maximize my concentration.

- Yet another season where you could potentially meet Flash in the finals.
▲ I would love to just play against Flash in every final(Laugh). By the time you make it into the finals, you are already a contender in 'the battle between the period's best.' If we keep competing against each other with neither one slumping, it is a win-win situation for us both. Continuous rivalry is a good thing. If we meet at the top often, I feel it will motivate us more. There are alot of positives to it.

- How do you want the Ro8 will play out?
▲ I don't have a preference as to who will advance. Regardless of who comes up or how the brackets are set up, winning is all that matters.

- You have an OSL game tomorrow.
▲ I practiced for it beforehand, and have been practicing whenever I could. I'm not particularly worried about it.

- Coach Cho has told others to brace for the 'JD without proleague' effect.
▲ Of course I would answer these kinds of questions with answers such as 'I have given it thought' but for now I would just like you to watch me(Laugh).

- Any other words?
▲ Even though our team is on break, Perfectman has stayed behind for me. I only practiced against him. I am so thankful, and I am planning on buying him tasty and healthy food. My mind gets unrestful thinking of my game tomorrow, and I hope to god I win the OSL(Laugh). I hope I can see the benefits of forgoing my break.

[MSL]ForGG, "Looking forward to my first Bo5 in a while"



Conqueror ForGG(KT) has returned to the MSL Ro8 after 4 seasons.

On the 29the ForGG beat Hero(STX) 2:1 in the BigFile MSL Ro16 Bo3 in Group H. After allowing Hero to get back into the game with a loss in game 2, he won game 3 with strong lategame management, returning to the Ro8 after the Lost Saga MSL 4 seasons ago. This is his third appearance in the MSL Ro8.

- This is your first Ro8 in 4 seasons.
▲ I predicted Hero wouldn't be able to prepare 100% due to Proleague playoffs. I came relaxed but his strategy in game 2 was too creative. I was worried but it's a relief I beat him in game 3 and was able to move on.

- Wasn't game 2 unsettling for you?
▲ I thought I couldn't land the building cuz I made a mistake. I was a bit taken back(Laugh).

- Had the game shifted towards Hero after early game?
▲ Yes. I had to waste a scan so I had no clue what tech he was using, and wasted more minerals building 3 bunkers cuz I thought he was all-ining. But instead he had powered drones. After that I just played with the mindset of warming up for game 3.

- How was game 3?
▲ I barely practiced Oddeye 3. So it was a little difficult. I assumed I would beat him in game 2(Laugh). After seeing my opponents build I switched my build accordingly.

- The Firebat drop in game 3 was super effective!
▲ I just dropped Firebats and it happened to be super effective(Laugh).

- Who do you want to meet in the Ro8?
▲ Don't really know. Anybody would be fine.

- After making it to the Ro8 after a long break, are you hungry for more?
▲ This is my first Bo5 in a while. I think it will be really fun. I want to make it to the semifinals too.

- Did you go on break?
▲ I relaxed at home. I also played with my friends(Laugh).

- Who do you want to play in the Proleague finals?
▲ Don't really care. I'm confident against any team.

- Any other words?
▲ I want to thank Hoejja, 815 and Perfective who helped me practice. I also want to thank my fans who are always cheering for me.

[MSL]Sea, "I would have been more depressed if I didn't make it this time"



Sea(MBC Game) has finally broken the Ro16 barrier.

On the 29th, Sea beat out the revolutionist Bisu(SKT1) 2:0 in the BigFile MSL Ro16 Bo3 match and moved onto the Ro8. After his 2005 debut, this is the first time Sea has made it into the MSL Ro8.

- Finally, the Ro8.
▲ I am so happy. This is only the beginning. I will do my best(Laugh).

- Weren't you stressed [about not being able to go past the Ro16] in the past?
▲ Originally I wasn't. But at the same time it is true that recently I started thinking 'I guess I'm just not going to make it as a progamer.' I think on a subconscious level thoughts along that line were lurking.

- Wasn't it hard to battle Bisu?
▲ Truthfully TvP is hard. But to me making the Ro8 preceded all in terms of importance. If I hadn't made it this time, I would have been even more depressed.

- After MBC Game Hero dropped out of the playoffs, have you been practicing alot?
▲ I did. I passed up my vacation to practice. I played with a comfortable mindset since I could concentrate on just individual leagues.

- After winning Challenge in 2007, it is your first seed in a loooong time.
▲ Since I am strong at Survivor Tournaments(Laugh)… I don't assign any special value to earning a seed. Nonetheless, the prospect of participating in the group ceremony talk next season does get me excited.

- Who do you want to meet in the Ro8?
▲ If I meet Light, I will feel that the greater forces are screwing around with us. Since this is the MBC Starleague, can't adjustments be made(Laugh)? If it really turns out [to be light]. I will take it as the greater forces fucking with us. As long as it's not Light, I will be content.

- There is a chance you could make it to the OSL Ro8 as well.
▲ The OSL match has 2 more games after tomorrow. So I haven't really given it much though. Still, I plan on concentrating and doing my best.

- Any other words?
▲ I hope I don't play against Light in the Ro8. I also thank Dr. Han [WHO?], even though I haven't given him a call recently. He gave me very good advice. I should go visit him soon(Laugh).

[MSL]Fantasy, "I want to reach greater heights"



The terrorist, Fantasy(SKT1), teamkilled Hyuk(SKT1) to advance to the Ro8.

Fantasy beat out Hyuk 2:0 in the BigFile MSL Ro16 Bo3. Fantasy, who advanced after committing a teamkill, advanced to his first career MSL Ro8.

- This is your first MSL ro8.
▲ I'm really happy to make the MSL ro8. But the ro8 is still not that good; I won't be satisfied with this, so I will make it even further.

- You played your teammate (Z)Hyuk of SKT.
▲ After the match, I went directly to the interviewer, and didn't get a chance to talk to him. I'll encourage him to keep working hard.

- How do you feel after winning?
▲ I feel sorry that I made my teammate type GG, so I'm not too happy. But since I advanced, I'll do both my part and Hyuk hyung's part to win.

- How are you practicing?
▲ SPL is important, but the individual leagues are too. I use all my free time to sneakily practice (laughs). Now I need to focus on practicing for SPL.

- Now, I'm sure you never want to play your teammates again.
▲ Every time I play a teammate I don't feel very good about myself (laughs). If possible, I hope to never play a teammate again. But since it's an individual league, I have no choice. If I meet my teammate, I hope it's in the later stages of the tournament.

- There was almost a teamkill situation in the OSL ro16 as well.
▲ If there was such a situation in the OSL also, I would've felt very bad. (Z)EffOrt looked out for me, so I'm thankful.

- It's almost time for the SPL semifinals, but neither sides' (SKT or STX) players have done too well in the MSL.
▲ After seeing the STX players' matches, I resolved to practice very hard. (Z)hero especially played very well [T/N clanmate saying kind words for other clanmate ]. If he gave up individual league practice time to practice for Proleague, he could not have played better. The semifinals are a very intense match.

- Who do you want to play in the semifinals?
▲ Last time I said Calm, but I changed my mind. I want to play Kal; we're in the same OSL group and he's a very good player, so I want to go into my match against him with greater momentum. (T/N man this is a hard-to-translate sentence...)

- You lost your OSL match yesterday.
▲ I think my strategy wasn't very good. I lost to a very good player, so I'm not too disappointed. But though I did analyze the map, it turns out that my strategy was indeed a bit incorrect. I'll play better in the remaining matches.

- Last words?
▲ This is my first MSL ro8, so I want to do well. I hope all the fans keep cheering for me, and since the SPL semifinals are Saturday, I hope everyone support our team!
