+ Show Spoiler +Flash, “When I saw the Scouts, I decided I’d take the entire map in my game.” ![[image loading]](http://www.fomos.kr/board/interview/1271679446_1.jpg) Q: You led your team to victory with two wins. A: Since we were on a two-game losing streak, I feel like we would have had no excuse if we lost again. We broke the losing streak now, so all that’s left to do is keep running forward. We’ll keep winning. Q: In your game against Neo.G_Soulkey, did the game go as you had initially planned? A: The game did go as I had planned, but since I gained such a large advantage, I could play more comfortably. Q: Your early game control against lurkers was very good. A: If I concentrate, I can pretty much always do those kinds of controls. As for today, since I got so many lurkers in the beginning, it’s not a stretch to say that the game was over then. Q: Did you display such a dominating game because of the scouts in set 1 by any chance? A: I did. Honestly, I even thought about nuking, but I thought that wasn't a mannered thing to do against an opponent who’s doing his best, so I decided to take every expansion on the map. It was my own way of revenge against Free’s scouts. I think it wasn’t as bad as scouts. Q: Were you scheduled to play the Ace match as well? A: I was. But I only practiced my TvZ. I didn't practice a single TvP on Roadrunner, so in truth I was quite worried. That’s because in TvP, snap decision making skills are important, but since I practiced mainly my TvZ, I wasn’t in the right mindset. So I decided I had to go for a timing push, and I ended up using the build I had prepared for the [OSL] Finals. I’m glad it worked out well. Q: Your team broke the losing streak, but you won two games, so the complaints about a one-man team are bound to resurface. A: In all honesty, it is an aspect of our team that we do need to work on. But right now, it’s not that big a problem. My two wins weren’t accomplished on my own. It’s because my teammates helped me that I could do it. Q: Your condition still seems great in round 4. A: My win rate’s better than I had expected. It’s a new kind of feeling. Also, in terms of all-time Proleague wins, I used to be around 20 wins away from Jaedong, but now I’ve caught up to about 9. I want to make the all-time Proleague win record mine as well. Q: Last words? A: I want to thank my Zerg teammates for helping me practice, and to our fans and supporters: with the momentum we gained this game, we will keep winning, so please keep cheering for us. + Show Spoiler +Stats, “I was waiting for Zero.” ![[image loading]](http://www.fomos.kr/board/interview/1271679399_1.jpg) Q: Your thoughts on having won your first round 4 game? A: It’s been a while since I’ve won. When I won, I was so happy I couldn’t stop smiling. Q: It’s been a while since you’ve been in the linup. A: My condition wasn’t great after I had a two game loss streak in WL, followed by two consecutive losses in MSL. On top of that my Protoss teammates were performing so well, so it was a little difficult to get a lineup appearance. Q: What did you think when you found out that Zero was your opponent? A: My coach and my manager told me that on Judgment Day, for sure Zero will be fielded, so they told me to practice hard for my PvZ. Because of that I was well prepared, coach H.O.T-Forever helped me extensively, and Violet recommended me a build order. All these things helped a lot. [T/N: For those who don’t know, H.O.T-Forever is, surprisingly, KT’s Protoss coach and not the Zerg Coach.] Q: Your multitasking was superb. A: I focused on my multitasking during practice, and I was luckily able to show that during today’s game. I was pretty confident today since I had been doing well during practice, so I was basically all prepared for Zero. Q: If you were to rate your performance today? A: I’ll give myself 70 points [Haha, Stats too modest]. Everything didn’t go perfectly like it did during practice, but the overall flow was about right. Q: Your personal goals for round 4? A: Since there are 11 games, I think I’d be very happy with about 5 wins. Whenever I get a chance for a lineup appearance, I want to win. Q: Last words? A: First off, Hoejja and 815 helped me a lot, rOo, Violet for the his idea on the build order, Coach H.O.T-Forever, I want to thank all of them. Plus, it’s exam time in school, and so Manager Lee Gil Man always drives me and Flash everywhere so that we wouldn’t be uncomfortable. I want to thank him as well. Also, since my 4-game losing streak, my parents have been supportive telling me “If you prepare and try your best every game, then it’s ok even if you lose.” It was a big help, and with the Coaching staff telling me similar things, I could practice without too much stress. Didn't Flash's AK of SKT have him kill Bisu/Best on Roadrunner? Or was that Tornado o_O
Thanks for translating

Thanks for translating!
I’ve never played a TvP on Roadrunner, so in truth I was quite worried. Mistranslation? Flash is 4-0 in TvP on Roadrunner.
|
Oops. He said he never practiced for it for this specific game. My bad.
edit: He said "I didn't play a single TvP in Roadrunner" and I took that to mean he hasn't played it before, but as many of you have pointed out, he clearly meant he didn't practice for this this time. Anyway, it's fixed now. Thanks everyone for pointing it out.

hello. thanks alot for the translation!

Amazing display of skil by Flash! Thx for translating mate!

Flash can't mean he's never played a TvP on Roadrunner, because he had perfect turret positions. Surely he's at least played it in practice, right? (on edit: ah, I was too lazy to check his game history, he has played TvP before.)
Anyway, thanks for translating.

Rofl free must be pissed! All he needed to do was defend and he could have taken the win easily. Hahaha!!
And Flash not even denying that KT is a one man team is really really sad.

Thanks for the Translation.

Maybe he meant that Flash hasn't practiced TvP on Roadrunner recently?
Despite Flash being modest, KT is really a one-man team. I hope the other guys step up or Flash might burn out like JD.

Flash is so awesome. I didn't understand this bit though:
"Plus, it’s exam time in school, and so Manager Lee Gil Man always drives us everywhere so that me and Flash wouldn’t be uncomfortable."
Do Stats and Flash actually have exams to take as well or something? I don't get it...
Thanks for the translation!

Thanks for the translations. Love how Flash got back at Free in such a dominating fashion, hahaha.

Stats and Flash are both final year high school students.

I guess that makes sense, but uhh, surely they don't really have any time to study whatsoever? Are these exams purely a formality basically?

Yeah. You wouldnt be able to get in good schools with those kind of results. :p

Great sportsmanship there! Flash seems so well mannered and mature. I would've enjoyed some nice nuking though.

im not sure if you are being sarcastic, but if you're serious you should watch the game. at no point in the entire match was free in any position to win.

Stats, “I was waiting for Zero. LOL
I don't know why, but I laughed really hard at that. I can just picture Stats as the black-white cat and zero as the cat on the bed from this gif:

lol Flash decided to spare Soulkey and not nuke him. Imagine what would happen if you angered Flash, would he macro a whole army of scvs and attack/micro them to kill you?

Thanks for the translation, missed the scouts cause I stopped watching when ForGG got his third killed the second time, no wonder.

Don't get too excited guys. Flash might have won two games but his ELO is still prety low. I mean, anyone can get ELO of 2421, am I right?

Wowee scouts and pseudo-bm flash, I'll have to watch these, thanks for the translation!

Hahaha Flash <333
Thank you for your translations as of late Appreciate them very much <3

Anyone else think that free wasn't BM at all? I mean, when you've got carriers owning the terran's natural and recall owning their main, and they have no other bases and no units and STILL aren't giving up, what else is the protoss supposed to do?
Flash kept his counter-BM to a minimum, though, so it's all good. It was actually pretty cool watching him take the entire map and trade mech units 1-for-1 with zerglings and still come out ahead.

haha, so the expand on the whole map WAS bm, too bad he didn't actually nuke!
|
ForGG should have just left. I say that as a huge ForGG fan and I definitely don't blame Free for building scouts.
|
Stats PvZ was just perfect, i don't remeber watching such game in a looong time, if ever. Flash beastly as always, i seriously feel sorry for his opponents.

Love how this year Flash went from "I really need to work on TvP" to "Yea so I wasn't sure if I should nuke him or take all the expansions"

I am saying that if free knew that Flash didn't practice any TvP at all, he would have defended at the cost of eco or tech and dragged the game into late game where Flash with no practice would become very beatable.
But of course free couldn't know...
|
You mean you want to drag a game when you are in the losing position?
Flash had a full command group and a half of tanks knocking in front of the dual bridges, with rines and vults to take enough fire to completely obliterate all the goons without any tank losses.
had he tried to attack that army anywhere there, it will be total slaughter for him. He really didnt have a choice and had to counter, or risk getting all his units trapped in his base by flashes timing attack.
its just that his 12 goons got completely obliterated by 1tank and 7 vultures in flash's base. He lose the micro war, hence the game.
|
...and dragged the game into late game where Flash with no practice would become very beatable.
-__-
|
I wonder how soulkey felt after watching the replay of that game, he probably wasn't even aware that Flash had taken all the expansion on the map. First time ever that I've watched a 10 base t vs a 4 base z o.O.
|
Man, I hate Flash's TvP playing style. It's so boring, all he ever does is turtle, turtle, turtle. To make the boredom even worse, in his last few games he's started turtling outside his opponents' naturals in the middle of the game! He even bunkers up early game, too--how ridiculous is it to place your last line of defense and your only marines right next to the opponent's nexus? He must be the most defensive player on earth. Hopefully he'll start playing straight-up one of these days.
Ah well, thanks for the interview and well-done translation at least.

You mean like Flash was very beatable 1 time out of 11 in Winners League, none of those 1 times involving the late game? He couldn't have prepared for all of those.
Flash has only lost one macro game to a protoss this year (Movie's carrier switch on EOTS in the OSL finals), and he has played a bazillion of those games, in between all the games he ended quickly with his timing pushes from hell (which his opponents couldn't defend even when they knew what was coming, by the way).
Flash isn't a player who you just beat by being more prepared. His in-game adaptability and grasp of the game fundamentals is too good for that. 9 times out of 10, Flash gets a *stronger* position as the game goes on, even if the other player starts with an advantage.
|
|
|
Flash was on equal bases when he pushed (in fact, I think I remember he was a little ahead since Free's fifth wasn't up yet). It's not like he took a major economic sacrifice for his push.
And even if he did, there was no way Free was going to break the push. His forces were totally overmatched at that point. It was a completely dominating performance.

Note the ACE vs OZ matches are also there, so if you don't want the lineups/number of games play for that match spoiled you'll need to find somewhere else
