so much for blizzard being the reason. It didn't make sense anyway.
Someone should put this in the OP so that everyone is clear on the situation.

I wouldn't worry to much, there may be some down time playing on Iccup, but we are usually pretty good about getting this type of thing taken care of.
Thanks for this.
But this is precisely the type of information that should have been mentioned upfront (i.e. in the blogpost), instead of trying to incite panic with a cryptic two-liner post.

wouldn't be that big of a deal, SC2 is probably coming out in the spring.
it's becoming hard to get motivated to improve on iCCup =/

Hope this will get solved .... dont wanna and wont go back to bnet servers anymore

Kenny already said it but yeah, not to do with Blizzard - the server box is being taken away for unknown reasons but it should be solved. Just a matter of when and how atm.
That server needed more RAM and everything else anyway. Maybe too much maintenance for the people who initially allowed the use of it.

QQ. An actual iCCup worker confirmed it... It doesn't sound too bad though!

Funny, beacuse I would think the proximity of SC2`s release is all the more reason to improve as much as possible. Afterall, considering we are talking about a sequel here, chances are that at least some of the skills will transfer over from the original.

Yeah except when they try to launch a pirate SC2 bnet and they get shut down hardcore.

What's stopping them from moving to another server center?
|
Hell it's about time X) Let sc1 go away...

This is bad.. Hopefully it won't be the end of iccup. Not that I would even like to, but can't even play on bnet anymore with win7.

Apparently they get the current server for free. unk said he's making backups, so maybe if it means saving iccup, i don't think people would mind ads/donations for a new server. (possibly ads in the bnet channels too instead of the "Looking for a replay? type banners)
