He informed his team of the reason, which is that he did not enjoy the 'dorm-style' accommodation of the pro teams anymore. He said he would feel much healthier if he were to enlist in the military now rather than continue to play on, living in the pro team house.
Hopefully, the ACE members bug him to join ACE. He'd make a great addition to the team. More just team spirit than actual skill but he'd bring a healthy dose of skill too.

Well, the ACE players aren't exactly awesome either.

That game was hilarious. I like Chalrenge somehow. He isn't really good to say the least, but he has that something which makes him funny without being offensive, even when he is quite bad-mannered. Seing him join ACE would be cool. They need someone to rock their bench and make them look a little less uptight.

I recall GoRush saying they had him run for a mile to enter the military, July will probably faint after the first 20 feet so i guess we'll keep watching him play ^^

there's non-physical administrative jobs available for people with physical "disadvantages" (lol). the mandatory military service has a really wide variety. there's the super-tough special forces training and the standard grunt training. then there's stuff like ROKAF Ace and the aforementioned administrative jobs. some don't even require you to stay in barracks, you just commute like a normal job. it just depends on if you can pussy (or pay) your way out of the tough stuff.

I think it's the fact that he always had that completely happy-go-lucky smile. Never a smirk or anything, just a smile.
first week on patrol he is getting headshoted by those damn northerners ^^ , "Awwwww shit is that....CHALRENGE?!?!?! (BOOM, HS) But seriously, if he really didnt like it that much then i see why he is leaving.

There's a variety of exceptions that get you out of active duty and into desk jobs etc. Stuff like very poor eyesight, severe obesity, legitimate physical disabilities, etc. July's not anywhere near being fat enough to get an exemption though, you have to be pretty damn overweight to get an exemption.
I still can't believe Therock didn't win that game . He had so much recources! Should have went like 120 psi carriers and 80 DA, wait for Chalrenge to mindcontrol and then mindcontrol them back .

Chalrenge is the only pro gamer ever that I don't respect. He has a rude attitude and unlike FBH he can't laugh at himself. He allways skulks after losing and allways gloats after winning.
The game vs Rock was unbearable. He just sat in his main playing with one hand for 15 minutes and kept laughing at Rocks attacks. I am no TheRock fan but him winning the rematch was pure joy.
Chalrenge is the height of arrogance. I can not believe he has fans.

I'd love to be able to come in and defend him over remarks like these, but his temperament is/was very hot and cold. Some days he'd refuse to acknowledge that he spoke English at all (and be grinning as I struggled to speak Korean.) and others he'd be grabbing my arm and dragging me off to take photos or asking if I was okay when I had a cold. I think that is his charm in a way. He's unpredictable, funny and outside of the televised events he was one of the most interesting players to be around.
You just can't judge people on their event behavior alone - like I can't judge most of the players upon knowing them upon the level I do. However, for me it's nice to be able to see how they are when they're not placed in front of a camera/are playing.
lol he'd really sit there and act like he couldn't speak english for a bit, even with you knowing he could from having spoken to him before?
I think it's always a shame when a progamer quits, no matter who they are. Instead of quiting, maybe he could've had a revelation with the same inspiration to do something different, and practice harder or with a better mindset, and start winning or something. Just quiting is sad

Pretty much - I think it was becoming an inside joke with us that I'd call him a bastard for doing it too. Like when Sangho calls me 'man' - so I take bad photos of him and then threaten (jokingly of course.) to upload them on the eSTRO site.
