And now I'm doing the warranty claim on the mouse through Logitech, but the G3 is discontinued (Maybe because this was a common problem with the mouse?).
They offered me the 2 closest models which were the G500 and the MX518. Both of which are humongously bad and just upgraded versions of the old shit. I've used the MX500, MX510, and MX518 and I disliked them all. The g9x is even worse.
What I want in a mouse: Laser (can't go back to opti, laser is just so much better) Back/Forward Buttons and ofc mouse wheel Small size and low weight. Low center of gravity. Ambidextrous basic shape (none of this gaudy swirly hand forming bullshit) Basically I want this: + Show Spoiler +
What I do not want: Wireless Excessive buttons Heavy/Large Mouse Left/Right Handed only Opti or Ball (I COULD settle for a decent opti replacement, but Laser is sooo good)

Is there a way I can take apart the new mouse and rehouse it in the G3 casing? Is there any way to troubleshoot fix the G3 on my own?
Does anyone want to buy whatever mouse I warranty for so I can just use the money to buy something I want instead?
What's wrong with ergonomic mice it's better for your hand esp during long sessions and only takes a few hours to get used to it, frankly i really dislike non right handed taylored mice because it's so awkward for me to position my fingers on the mouse properly when i have such a large hand.
G9 is a weird mouse even i who moved up from a MX518 spent like 2 3 days feeling that the mouse is awkward but after like a week i really like how wide and short it is.
But i should note i use a finger tip only kind of grip that suits high dpi mice like the G9, also i use the wide grip it's not as good for gaming but it's wide enough that my pinky doesn't drag when i use it.
It's also a heavy mouse and has large feet which doesn't make it glide quite as much as some other mice.
It's def a mouse that you have to get used to, i've read reviews about the grip plam/claw users tend to also go though a transition in getting used to how to grip a mouse like it but tend to like it after words.
As far as the two grips go
the wide grip i use for everything too lazy to swap grips and the widegrip is really comfortable.
The coarse grip is great for grip i assume, but i feels weird and tends to make my hand sweat so lol i never bothered too much with it. it's also a smaller grip.
I'd be hard to find a logitech mouse that isn't ergonomic, might have to do razer or steel series etc logitech is all about new things and ergonomics in it's business line so it fell into their gaming line and most people like ergo grips after they get used to them so logitech keeps up with that.
Best way to test a new mouse is borrow a friends lol becuase it really takes a few hours till you stop feeling awkward about holding a new mouse.
The replacement of the G3 was the G5 which was an ergonomic switch because of the sucess with the MX518 Like the replacement of the MX300 was the MX500 which was ergonomic which turned into the 510 and then MX518
logitech likes ergonomic designs people tend to like it once they get used to it, i bet if they saw a loss in sales they would have changed things. But they are sticking to what works.
Oh dang lol i should read more closely, how much "in store" credit did you get, becuase the G500 isn't a bad mouse by no means has pretty much the best lazer out there in it, the same lazer in the G9x, although holding it the rubber is a but different and most people find it off putting at first.
I have no idea how the warranty credit works, I didn't really ask. The guy told me to look at the mice on the website for something else if I didn't like the 2 suggested.
Here is a review I found and his complaints about the g500 are enough to make me hate this mouse, btw my hand is about as big as his and this is how awkwardly stupid design this ergonomic shape is.
I had an mx300 and I loved it to death. I didn't find out about the G3 until after it was discontinued, but I probably would've loved it. Now I use a razer diamondback. It took a few weeks to get used to, and it does alright, but I'd still love to have a mouse like the mx300 today.
No matter how specific you make an op, people still post exactly the dumb shit I expected. THIS IS A WARRANTY FOR LOGITECH MOUSE ONLY, WHAT I LIKE/DONT LIKE IS LISTED IN THE OP. Don't suggest some bullshit, and especially some bullshit that isn't logitech.
Does anyone have any of these new logitech mice and can give me some legit feedback on them?
