Did you read this thread, like at all, as in anything except the title?

I still use my MX300 for about 10 years now. Took out all of the weight on the first day of purchase. No problem yet. I wonder if we can still buy these online etc.

Mx518 is probably the best. I just (like, two weeks ago) got a new G500 and I'm am ridiculously happy with it, suddenly I went up to rank 35 in plat. Only slight issue with it is the side buttons, which are like half a millimeter too far back for my thumb, but I don't play world of warcraft anymore so I don't care.
edit: why didn't I get a Mx518? They were out in the particular store I went to and I cba.
edit: huh, maybe I should read through a thread BEFORE I post rather than after. Anyway, if you can't get a new G5, consider getting one of those mice you hate, because chances are you're just too used to the G5 shape and you don't give the new ones a proper chance. I didn't really like the shape of the G500 in the store but a day or two later I loved it.

i use my G5 for 3? years now and i am 100% happy. it still works, is super to move etc. only thing that i hate is that it was relatively expensive. i paid 60€ and i think 20€ was just for such stupid things like shifting weight.
overall best mouse i ve ever had.

only problem is that it is right hand only.

hrmm, just read your other thread regarding your G3.
Sounds like the exact same faults that have happened with my MX700 and G7 mice, it's actually fixable but it does require some steady hands, maybe some tape, maybe a pair of tweezers.
Basically, what happened to mine is that the switches in the mouse suffer from metal fatigue/general wear which makes the clicks functional but unreliable. What I did to fix it was open up the mouse, carefully unbox the switch and then bend and reseat the copper (VERY ANNOYING TO DO) in order to give the switch more "flex" and then reassemble the whole thing.
Done that to my G7 about three times now; some of the screws to disassemble the mice are hidden behind the mouse feet and warranty label so if you try it then warranty in the future is completely out of the question.
Having owned two expensive logitech mice that exhibited these problems, I probably wouldn't recommend them to heavy users. The mice themselves are a pleasure to use, but i'm not sure the switches inside them were built to last.

I was gonna post something helpful but your letter was stupid as fuck.
MX518 is easily in the top 3 of mouses ever created for gaming. If your personal opinion is that it sucks, then that's fine but it's also ridiculously ignorant.

Some people just don't like the shape? What's so hard to understand about that.
The MX518 and all other similar mice are just bulky pieces of shit.

Hmmm, MX518, G5 and G9X are really good. I used to use 518 till it broke, then my friend lent me a G5 until I bought a new mouse, which ended up being the G9X. I thought G5 was a great upgrade from 518, it fit my hand better and felt nice. I didn't see it being sold anywhere at the time though. So I just went with the G9X which was horrendous. I use the "Claw" grip as well and going to this mouse was very painful. For about a month I couldn't click units in SC, couldn't kill people in FPS's, yeah you get the picture. Also the mouse pushed my hand off the table, I had to keep lifting it up and putting it back on the pad lol.
After that month though I tweaked the sensitivity for each game to perfection. The mouse finally feels really nice, and just doesn't feel horribly awkward to hold. My kill rate in FPS's raised pretty drastically. I can twitch shoot headshot people very easily now, shoot people out of the air much easier, and SC micro became better. Best mouse I've owned so far, just took forever to adapt to.
G5 and MX518 are still good mice but this G9X, it just works much better for me.

Same =( I'm gonna hate the world when I get to this predicament! I love my G3 that my older bro got me for a birthday present a few years ago. I hate that they decided to cancel it!

But it does not feel the same. Thanks for this, I will try and tinker with it later tonight. I might shoot you a few PMs if I need any help if that's ok.

How about getting the most expensive mouse, selling it and then you buy a Razer Abyssus?
|
yea, I plan to just sell/trade the mouse for a g3 or something. Problem with Razer shit is that I can't actually feel/see the stuff in person. No store carries their products, only online.

Some people don't like starcraft. They don't like RTS. What's so hard to understand about that.
Starcraft and all other RTS are just flashy pieces of shit.
You don't have to like it to recognize its good.

G5 suffers from the typical old style laser tracking issues.
If you move it too quickly it doesn't track your motion at all. (Sort of stalls out) The G9x hardly does logitech gaming mice any justice either.
Only thing I could remotely recommend for that shape and with the buttons would be the Razer Lachesis or Diamond back...but even those are a far cry from what you want.

K, so I finally got the scanner working and sent the invoice to Logi. They are going to replace with the g500, which I just noticed has the spec of 8 million clicks durability, which sounds pretty good. I wonder what the durability is of other mice?
But according to this, with 19.5 million clicks since 2007 almost to the day. That means I average 6.5 million clicks a year. So the mouse click is going to wear out just over a year.
