So yeah, I pretty much learned my lesson last time. However for the past few days I have been practicing quite abit, about 4-6hrs per day. Not much I know, however I can see the result of dedication as the attempt of drawing Goku from DBGT went pretty decent:

I have visited several sites and started learning, I also ordered some books that help starters! Feel free to criticize the work and my performance

Its ok,

for me, the best way to improve was copying a TON of artists, and then start drawing from what i rememberd i copied Keep on working/posting man

Nothing wrong. He/we were referring to the context of the drawing, not the quality of the work

This one's much better. Congrats, and never quit. From personal experience I can tell you, you won't feel sorry in a few months (when most likely you'll be able to draw some sick shit if you practice daily).

the body doesnt look very natural. like make it more manly instead of scrawny.. and something about it is disspraportionate.

Id recommend the book drawing in the right side of the brain.

Of all the art books I read, that was the only one that actually helped me improve in the right direction. Most books are very mechanic and teaches you tricks that can make you look good, but wont make you a real good artist, imo.

also check http://www.youtube.com/user/EclecticAsylumArt

You have a lot of potential. Keep it up. =)

Hmm I wish you'd spend more attention to the details, it kinda looks like it was made in paint now.

The coloring was pretty bad. You need to include shadows and highlights into your picture to make it not to look so flat and 2d. And his skin color is way off...
Also, most manga pictures are inked digitally (or with digital pen), the edges that is. Otherwise the picture looks sketchy.

EVERYTHING IS STARCRAFT:

1 - learn a single bo = copying a known artist
2 - expand on that single bo = pay attention to detail/shapes/symmetrics/... to see what makes
it great
3 - learn another bo and expand on that bo again.
4 - When you have practiced your bo = drawing the same style object over and over again,
you should be ready to add something to that bo on your own = add some new details
to enrich your drawings.
5 - When you have got a lot of experience you can start to build your own bo = form your
own style and favourite objects, draw from your experience with previous bo and make this
one your own.
6 - Who knows, you might even become a progamer = professional artist and revolutionize the
way people play starcraft today = draw your style. (Or you can just become a macro beast
ofc).

Spend as much time as you would on starcraft and expect it to take as long to become good. (How long does it take to go from D-- to B-level?)

Also a D player should not attempt a bisu-build or other high apm tricks. Focus on the fundamentals and macro (= practice your basics a lot), micro (= make super detailed drawings) comes later.

Btw, is that in photoshop or did you draw that by hand? (if you are practicing on paper, plz stop immeadiatly and start on you computer)
Probably the best starcraft player in the world

Ok wait, how the hell do you draw on photoshop, dont you need a stylus or something? Drawing by hand is more natural to me, and I scan what I draw and then color it and enhance it using photoshop.

I think it's most common to sketch normally and then scan... step 2 is inking/drawing out the lines, that can be done in photoshop or painter. You use the pen / ink tool to get good lines.

Great improvement from the other picture!

shoulders look a odd though. He is a guy right? so give him those mantoss broad shoulders!

Try to copy from artists soon you can redraw some of the stuff from memory and from there you can start to make your own work!
