For those of you not familiar with the total war series its basically " Its games combine turn-based strategy and resource management, with real-time tactical control of battles." Its famed for its historical accuracy and you get to control a nation at a certain nation in history and lead it to conquer the known world. The battles involve huge amounts of units on the screen at the same time and have an absurdly epic feeling.
But a certain mod team who have been working hard for over a year have almost completed something amazing. They are nearly finished creating a version of the game in a fantasy world, but not just any fantasy world. They have created a Lord of the Rings version of the mod. For those of you familiar with the game you will be amazed with all the new units theyve created:

The mod should be released any hour or *gulppleasegodno* day now, they are being really ambiguous about it. Im just going insane waiting so I figured I would make a blog.

Ummm, Is it for Rome: Total War or for Medieval II?
I played the Fourth Age mod and it was okay cept the AI is pretty terrible.
Edit: It's for Medival II Kingdoms.
I must say, it looks gorgeous. Time to reinstall it up again =).

Wow... that mod looks really nice. I have the EA made Battle of Middle-Earth games and I wonder how this mod will stack up to the 2 games.

Oh man. I never looked into the Total War games, but I'm going to check them out just because of this mod. Thanks.

The models are nice, however gameplay tweaking is a must. Havent read much about it though, I still find MTW2 better than Empires.

They have a completely different and far more effective AI thanks to their own custom work and several submods (such as Lusted). The game will be far more challenging than vanilla M2:K.

I must say that Shogun was the best Total War game. The others are good too but nothing can beat Shogun!

This mod will be far different...both of those were fairly micro-oriented games...especially BfME1. BfME2 was a joke...horrible game. Total War games are more simulation type games, not so much mechanics-based.
