Yellow and Carthage are both nice maps IMO. Every single toss player on Col 2 seems to go 2 gate zealot and proxy cannon on the cliff thing, and every zerg does 9 pool speedling+proxy sunk, both incredibly annoying things to face.

well imo, colo/desti/medusa should be motw all season long. but regardless, I'll just play all colo this week, I really don't mind at all.

carthage is a cool idea for a map but protoss is more or less fucked.

Yellow is another non-korean map that is almost good.... almost.


jello_biafra I've never faced 2gate/proxycannon on colo ever, in like 200~ games.

I just think picking so many completely crappy maps at once is lame.

I don't like colo because I've played it a million times and early/midgame/lategame terrible toss and terran players can sit there and not do anything and I can't attack because if I do I run the risk of three gas toss raping me. So I'm stuck playing a macro game against protoss and terran that aren't worth my time.

Yeah I feel bad for terran players. both tvz and tvp are fucking impossible on that map and tvt must be hard also.

I've only played against this build as Terran, but I think that would be an adequate response, cannon on the high ground should work nicely against it. It's gotten to the point where I send my 6th SCV up to kill the damn neutral sunken as fast as physically possible.

Whenever i see people complaining about MotW it looks like they only play 5 or 6 maps tops... I don't get it, what's the big deal about branching out a bit. Carthage doesn't seem to get enough credit, collo is a well though out map, Yellow is a good map but people just don't like what they don't know, and RH3 develops some really interesting game styles! You don't have to love them all, you just have to pick one and play it for a week : )
It would be so boring if Python were always on the MotW. And although I like them now, I would get seriously fed up with Destination and Medusa if they were all I ever played... I'm glad they're out this week, I can go back to some Carthage and actually have people join my games.

Personally I only play the "gennerally accepted maps" because I want to get better at the game, meaning I want to get better mechanics and timings.
If I go play a nonstandard map or a completely new map, the chances of a standard game are way smaller, and the risk of me fucking up because I dont know the map is higher.

I agree that python is really boring, but a nice rotation of medusa, bluestorm, destination etc. would be optimal (and also, they are pretty balanced). Then all the other maps OTW could be "new" maps and such.

The difference between python and the other maps I like, is that they do have room for some creativity but still most players prefer standard play on these maps.

These maps suck for 2v2 also. For me atleast, rampless maps suck at 2v2 :/... And so little % of ppl even play on yellow(which is actually pretty nice for 2v2.

I'm guilty of the 9pool speedling with proxy sunk (think it was week 2 of the new season when collo was last motw) But then I stopped doing it because I remembered that lonelyprobe-- got really really mad when I did it to him, so I haven't done it since ;_;

they should get rid of the non-kor maps such as yellow. D/D+ noobs don't play them because they don't know the map and they play python mostly. the better players don't play them because they're not used in competitive tournaments/leagues.

also what' up with playing colo, destination and medusa only? last week sword of the moon and tears of the moon got totally ignored :/
