Why? Because I prayed with the genuine belief that I knew God existed. Prior to that, I would pray with some uncertainty. Was anyone listening to me? Was I just wasting my time? There was no strong, central belief that allowed me to pray with my full heart. I was there too. For years I was a follower in something out of obligation. I had serious doubts. After my own religious experience and my own leaps of faith, I definitely found what I had always been looking for. Since then, my belief has been strong nomatter what the circumstances in my life are. God will test you, will push you far to the edge, but it's belief in what you cannot see and cannot hear, that's the true test of faith and the truly fulfilling spiritual quest. (In my belief. ^^) Sometimes you pray and there's no response. Sometimes you need him and you can't feel him. But knowing he's there and never turning your back on your faith... That's when you finally find what you are looking for... It's wonderful. I'm glad to read this. Edit: I actually find this story kinda cute.

I closed my eyes and prayed/said to myself that if God really did exist, then tomorrow that girl would say "Hi" to me at school. Basically I was offering a test to God, if God existed he would make this near impossible thing happen. growing up as a Christian with several different pastors/teachers/churches, I've constantly been taught that testing God's existing in this way is not the way you find God or determine if he exists or not. And I'm not sure but I think there may be a passage in the Bible that talks about this as well when I was very young I also did a similar thing while praying to God and it came true right away(sorry dont remember the specifics), I used to think this meant that God exists but now I see how foolish that was

See this bothers me Any possible way you would "test" God's existence is immediately noted as something you just SHOULDN'T do. Why?... Why is this? Why is it that a being or energy or whatever completely transcends our ability to question it? Humans are skeptical creatures, it is in our nature to question things. Why does this religion in particular want to stifle that?
