Btw does disc hack really work on iCCup? I've never encountered it.

When moving from D ranks to C ranks, my average game length went down by atleast 10 minutes.

I don't know if it's a hack or they unplug their internet, but it's happened to me 5 times so far.

I must be getting all the cheeser in D then, because I haven't played a single game where protoss didn't cannon rush me, or terran 8bbs scv all in. Seriously, who has that much fun doing all in builds against strangers? It's a series strategy... You don't learn anything from doing all in builds because their designed to either work pretty much no matter what, or fail no matter what, depending on what your opponent did. If people want to get better at this game, they should try to play straight up games... They're a lot funner than some people know.

I've been 5pooled once this season and the only proxy I've encountered was a proxy fact float on medusa. I must be getting all the non-cheesers, the only player filtering I do is say "hi" in the game lobby and wait for a reply. Eventually they say gogogo or just leave (must be really scared of social interaction).

How many good players would you think would lost to a bad player who would cheese? I really loved being cheesed (can't play bw nowadays T_T) cause it made things easier for me. Even if I lost, I gg'ed and thought "interesting..", watched the replay and made sure I knew how to deal with the same cheese the next time. I didn't cheese that much, I rarely did actually, but I never EVER understood all the hate versus cheesers or cheese games. Cheesing makes good intense short games, full of sexy micro and nice decisions. I don't consider it that much of a legitimate reasoning but look at koreans even. I don't recall watching a bo5 where there are no cheese strats prepared for at least 2 of the games of the series. It's very usual at bo3's as well. The player that cheeses is the one risking. You should learn how to deal with every kind of shit, so stop whining and look for ways to benefit from every game, cheese or not.

Normally I don't mind all-in builds, because I think that it keeps a nice balance with people who are playing greedy builds... But newsflash, no one is playing greedy builds at D level... Not even close in the Zerg matchups. I like variety, to be honest. A cheese every other game wouldn't be so bad, but it's every game I've played on iCCup lol. I don't care about winning or losing, it's just not fun. Either your build counters it, or it loses to it. There's no 'sexy micro.'

Other than that I don't see why it can't be fun. Iccup was always for me as much fun as fun means to me to be improving my game. You don't know your opponent and every game = points. Not particularly fun to me. CWs were awesome and fun, playing with friends was always ultra fun, playing ums is chilled fun. Iccup is a battleground and a training field. I don't know what else you're expecting, but perhaps you should consider dropping iccup and doing something else with starcraft. And I'm not being harsh "YO NOOB GO PLAY SOME DOTA". I played bw mainly for fun so I was laddering only about 10-15% of the time I played and did the other things that I like most of the time. All I mean is take iccup for what it is, don't expect to get from it something that it is not and it can't provide.

Out of 80 games or so I find 2-4 cheeses to be liveable. Or I'm lucky and getting all the proper players. You're not playing Zerg, is why. I had similar experience when I mained Protoss a few seasons ago.

There's not much chance to 'improve' when it's cheese every game. This is why I liked playing random... People never cheese you. But I always get banned if I don't choose a race, and I figured I'd try and see how good I could get with Zerg and main it. What basically happens every game is: Build order for first 3 minutes or whatever it is, game is decided in 20 seconds because my opponent wanted to cheese. Wait ten minutes to find another game because iCCup has ridiculous server problems. I mean, if I could find someone to consistently be around and play games with, that be a million times better, but all I've got is iCCup =/ It's this or nothing. I don't know man, I tend to disagree and I told you already why I think so. You win vs cheese, you get to higher ranks and get more quality games (no question about it, the higher the rank, the higher quality the games are). You lose vs cheese, you get exposed to your weaknesses and get chances to improve. Since you're zerg: if you were around Savior's domination era, I distinctly remember there was a period he got cheesed practically every single game and he just wouldn't lose. I'm saying thing just so that the "zerg is weak vs cheese" argument won't come up. I think the main problem with most players that hate cheese is that they see their losses as a game "stolen" from them, rather than dealing with it in a way it can actually help them. If there is one thing that distinguishes good players from worse ones in my eyes is their early game. People tend to think they're awesome in early game just because most games go to mid game until the winner is judged, this is so far from the truth though. I rememeber whenever I had to play with an opponent I knew nothing about, I could get a good idea of how good they were from the first 2-3 minutes. So if there's one thing you can keep working on in EVERY game is your early game management. A game played is never time lost, even if it ended in 5 minutes. Someone got a win during this 5 minutes so this means a lot of shit happened there. Pay close attention and try to get your every move to perfection. If nothing else you'll be one step closer to your goal which is overall improvement, through refining your early game. At the end of the day, iccup is not your only choice. Why don't you just join a clan? I'm sure there are lots of active clans out there willing to recruit players, no matter what your rank is.
