Here are some of my personal BW fails. I'm sure this has happened to some of you:
-9pool. Right as pool finishes, I make 3 drones -3 hatch muta vs terran. Spire finishes, I make 9 scourge -9pool. I extractor trick and accidentally cancel my pool instead of gas -Mass hydra vs protoss and I forgot range -Split 14 scourge vs 7 corsairs, then misclick, and every scourge hits 1 sair -get defiler mound, and research plague before consume -3 hatch lurker/ling vs terran. i somehow made 3 dens -About to snipe a marine from a huge MnM group and hit the windows key -mishotkey hatches and end up with one that never builds anything for the whole game -Got the hive but forgot adrenal
-6 HT, 10 incoming BCs, I misclick on one of the templar making it a double click and press R instead of T because they are adjacent. -Templar energy before Storm. -Arbiter energy before anything. -I get marine range in TvZ maybe 1/4th of the time. -Try to a-move vessels and get raped by lurkers because my marines can't see them. -Forget that I re-hotkeyed my hatch at 3 to an army, and press 3s in the middle of battle. -Lifted a command center to make a scanner, so all my SCVs start moving to another base and effectively block my landing for eternity. -Fail to wall on multiple maps in TvP -Catch my zealots against the wall when doing forward gates@9 on LT. -Storm drop without researching storm. -Place gates in such a way that the unit pops out next to the assimilator and has to walk around it to get outside. Then I realize that there is a mine in my base and that sets it off and I lose 10 probes. -3 gates in a triangle blocking my DT in.
- getting mug for points by a C+ player saying that he is a D/D- - already saw a spidermine in my mineral line but commanded goon/zealot to a-ground there and "kaboom goes the probes" - arbiter recalls but gets killed as soon as recall animation comes up.
sunken break without stims because I forgot that the research hotkey is not the same as the activation hotkey and by 'sunken break' I mean 'suicide 24 marines into sunkens'
isn't this ok? I do this most of the time since most of the terrans I play with turtles.
I can see when it would be okay, at a lower level I guess.
Not the case for me. Not because I am not low level, but because I always make arbs when I need them or late so I have no time for that shit. Also I fail to realize it until I have engaged the Terran and there is no stasis ability.
I do the drone instead of ling thing all the time. Then sometimes I'll be like "oh shit.. I was saving those larva" and try to cancel... -_-
-Building hatch too far from minerals and not noticing until it's finished -Hitting lurker hotkey and then burrow.. except it was the wrong hotkey and all lurkers die -ZvZ lair finished when I'm microing lings or just not paying attention and I totally forget to build spire until I realize my opponent's spire is almost done. -Scouting Terran with overlord, see the barracks almost done.. and don't move overlord away from barracks -Click pool to upgrade adrenal and realize I never upgraded speed

Some fail things from my Terran career -Trying to build a comsat but misclicking, making the command center lift off. (every terran should know this ) -Placing a bunker/depot where the scanner would go -Forgetting full dropships -Trying to sneak a dropship around, flying it directly into the only two scourge on the map

-playing zvz with some big lag and observers and i am in the begining of making scourges and mutalisks when my opponent is a bit ahead with gas... i happen to have done a muta and 2 scourges at the same time from 2 hatches and wanted to send them somewhere and ended up killing the muta with the scourges... -when doing the gas trick with zerg, made a drone, then instead of cancelling the gas i cancelled the drone and then the extractor too thinking it was all fine -drones instead of zerglings too -having a rally point on 1-2 hatcheries on some strange place than when i suddenly find the big green spon on the map with 24 or more hydralisks/zerglings/mutalisks on the map i feel like i found 20 bucks in my pocket -on last wcg before i had my lair done i was thinking that my spire was going to be done and i pumped a good chunk of ovies and was wondering why i dotn have money for spire and was being 26/60 limit -having irradiate on a hydra/muta and killing another hydra/muta in the attempt of killing the irradiated one -once when i was chasing and hitting enemy's mutas with my mutas i ended up chasing and hitting my mutas 1-2 times -consuming ultra/lurker near a zergling when needed a fast consume -forgeted the range of hydras for an entire game of zvp -pumping some key and waiting to make a unit when the building for it hasn't been spawned thinking i've made it/when i've no ovies and thought i made some -pumping L on hydras to realise that i forgot the upgrade -when playing with terran on a map with ramp where i've no idea how to wall i have ended up 1-2 times with a wall that can let two ultras in at the same time -making hatcheries on longinus on some shitty place near the entrance where larvas die from nothing (and have to make instantly units)
In an endgame with 2 defiler/2ultra/6lings/4scourge/1lurker vs 20marine/14medics/1 sci/
Plagin my own units in route to units when I ment to darkswarm. Once under cloud consuming 1 of 2 ultras. 1 defiler irradiated kills the 6lings+otherdefiler. I lost.
When I start then game, I hotkey my hatch at 5 and scouting ovie at 1. Then i proceed to swap 1,5,1,5,1,5 or just select the hatchery and spam sdsdsdsdsd or rally points. Some times I swap to 1 (my ovie) and continue with the spamming. This has two nefgative effects, either the ovie stops (S) or then you tell him to return to your main (rally spam).

I think all the things in the OP have happened to me at least once (the hydra range thing has happened to me so many times - pretty satisfying when you still win though :D ) the worst for me though is running in to attack a terran blob with lurkers and then hitting y or i instead of u while watching my entire army die -_-
Having 8 starports in endgame TvT and start producing 8 Science vessels because the hotkeys for BC's and SV's are right next to eachother, and then not notice it until you check your rally point to see 8 Science vessels clumped up ready to take on mass gols. That game sucked so hard.

I have only played 5 games or so but I still have accumulated a lot of fail.
I came up with a cute strategy on Destination where I put a pylon outside his main at the cliff and then went inside to put up a Gateway inside his main. Thing was, I only practised the build starting at 12 o' clock, and when I actually tried it in a game I started at 6 o' clock, which resulted in my first Zealot to be trapped by the Gateway.
I've tried to be like the pros and spam like hell in the begining. It always end up with me stopping my scvs from mining.
My first game I was really nervous. The outcome of that was despite practising a build, I somehow completely forgot about detection and was raped by lurkers. I was really confused when I tried pressing 0 s 9 s and no scan went of.
I've placed a manner turret. In the same game I clicked the wrong hotkey for Stim upgrade and wondered throughout the game why stim wasn't working as usual. That was hilarious when I watched the replay.
Placing a factory and then spending the money before it started building and then not noticing it. It made me really surprised when I discovered it. Raped to death by goons.
I placed a factory so I couldn't make an addon without moving the factory.
I also suck at finding players of my own skill level. The first person I played on Iccup was a chinese zerg that is right now C- with 76% winrate. OL scout, spot a red blip on the map and I assume it's his scouting probe (it was actually a probe moving within his main), so based on it's angle I deduct he's at 3oclock. I send my 8 speedlings there. Fail.
Turns out he built his cannons really late and I probably would've won right there. -_-
Get a perfect flank on the terran ball, usually from about three sides, with 36 lings, and 12 lurkers. Then after a few seconds, I remember that you can't attack move lurkers.
You think 9 pooling and making 3 drones is bad? (It's actually not that terrible in ZvP since they'll still make cannons first upon seeing your pool and eggs, so you may as well boost your econ.) I'm not a Z player though but it doesn't seem that bad to me.

Own failiure. - forget to controlkey comsats and find that out during the lurker/ling flank. - press stop on all scvs in the beginning coz of useless spam. - when you know you've pressed the key for a research/upgrade/build/unit but find out, when you expect it to be finnished, that the computer decided not to do it coz of various reasons.
Computer failiure: auto pop-up during 200/200 battle TvP before you were able to press siege mode... then tab back to find everything dead but a few stasised units.. Observers: Lol bad micro. You: I got a pop-up tt. Observers: right, pathetic excuse.. You: %"#&$@£
- In a ZvZ trying to cancel an overlord and canceling lair -_- - Having a nonlurker selected with lurkers so "u" doesn't burrow, resulting in tears and fail. - Bad rally point for hatchery at mineral only on Medusa, units run back and forward from hatch to pyramids.
-once in a little tourney, my first game was against a Z on Troy. Troy was a new map then. I practiced PvZ against one of my friends on that map to help me get used to it. When tourney time came, I managed to scout him on first try and prevent his 12 hatch by placing probe in between the 2 assimilators. I accidentally built a gateway in the spot for my nat nexus T_T
-once when playing a TvZ I went for a sunken break. When i got to his nat, I had more than enough to take him out. (2 ctrl groups of rinebat + 4 medics vs 2 sunkens done + 3 morphing + some lings) I double stimmed. T_T
-PvP on Medusa. We both opened 2 gate zeal. He teched to DT. I teched to obs. His DTs got into my main and started working on the robo while obs was building. I move my goons into the main to deal with the DTs asap. The robo was at around 150hp when the obs was around 90% done (I saw this later in the replay). I unknowingly clicked A while goons were selected. I wanted to see how much more is left for the obs. I clicked on the robo. T_T
-PvZ on Python. Zerg was at 12. I was at 3. Game lasted 40 minutes. I had map control and was 1 base ahead while he had lurk/sunk/spore at each of his bases. He decided to Doom Drop from his main to mine. I was prepared for it though with 6 HTs in the main waiting for the clumped ovies to show up. I forgot to upgrade storm T_T (pressed T when trying to upgrade storm)
-Once, due to bad building placement, my probes get stuck when they come out. T_T
-Accidentally misclicking when splitting workers initially resulting in one probe dancing through the mineral patch for a few seconds. T_T
-Somehow hitting escape instead of 1 while I had my forge selected which was 99% done during an FE, and thus losing to a 9 pool. -On several occasions while offracing as T, spamming rally to mineral patches with "r" at the beginning of the game and selecting all my scvs, then fucking up and making all the scvs "repair" a mineral patch.
Didn't read the whole thread, so sorry if it's been said, but when playing TvP and doing 1fax exp, taking scv's off gas while factory is building then forgetting to put them back on, haha -_-
-Researching Hallucinate instead of storm. Once those 4 controls groups of hydras come knocking and your 8 HT's are useless you start to cry inside..
-Sometimes I listen to music when watching replays, and when I want to game again I need to put the sound back on. When I exit the menu I often press escape one time too much and end up cancelling something. Mostly it's just a probe, but it has been my FE nexus in a PvZ = insta GG.
-Blocking expansions with pylons. Happens way too often.
-Proxying only to realize that my building placement means that the zeals/DT's will be stuck. /wrists
-Letting go of shift 0.00001 sec to early and failing to put up an important structure, mostly a Robo Fac. No obs means GG vs Lurkers unless I whore cannons which puts me waay behind.
-My fingers too lazy to reach to 9 0 keys for scan, so i accidentally double hit 8 which brings my vision back to my base, and my mnm army gets nailed by lurkers.
- I accidentally pressed "E" on my science facilty instead of "I" for irridate, cuz i played so many protosses, and my natural instinct is to press E on the science facility.
-I forget to put SCV's back on gas, and then end up getting slow siege, while toss 10/15 on longinus
When worker spliting at the beginning of the game, I sometimes misclick and end up with a couple scvs go THROUGH the mineral patches to the other side.
- Researching marine range instead of stim in tvz and strolling down with the first 6 rines / 1 med to kill the single sunken thinking stim will finish by the time you are by his natural.
- Forgetting Siegemode in TvP.
- Forgetting Irradiate in TvZ.
- Accidental cancellation (ESC-key) of barracks when trying to jump out a scouting scv while building a wall in TvP.
- Norton tabbing me out of SC during major battles because it blocked "an attack". Uninstalled Norton.
im a p player so when i try to play z im so bad i end up hotkeying my hydra/ling/lurker army and 1a2a3a4a attacking a blob of marine/firebat/tanks right when i get up close i hit burrow only to burrow every single one of my units EXCEPT the lurekrs right in front of the blob

My usual fail is when I try and get lurkers, but don't realize that I don't have enough resources to get the upgrade, so 5 minutes later i'm like "dammit why isn't my upgrade done yet???"

Spam selecting SCVs at start of game and then hitting 1s but dont hit 1 and then everything stops ....very frustrating. I'm also prone to 100% tilt quit so whenever anything bad happens i usually just lift everything and float to intrigue's base LOL.

I think you can also use Escape to cancel something like that? Less likely for your fingers to spas out and forget to right click

the only other common fail that happens to me all the time is I go to build a building and during the travel time for the scv I spend too many minerals and it doesn't get built. 2 minutes later when I go to build vessels I realize I never started the science facility. argh!

I've done that before too except I forgot to hotkey one to my cc, so its: spam select scvs, hit one, hit s... fuck
-pvz fe building placement that prevents my dragoons/archons from getting out -spamming select on my probes then setting a new rally point for my nexus, but I forgot to hit the hotkey for my nexus and all my probes go to where I clicked
More things I do on a regular basis: -Going siege expand, floating my cc to my nat. While its floating I just go 2s3s for build scvs and stop it in the process. -After playing a bazillion tosses: trying to go siege expand vs Zerg until my scouting scv comes across an overlord -Grouping a vulture with the tanks, hitting o repeatedly in the middle of a battle -Pressing p instead of i, wondering why my vultures drive up and down like retards instead of planting mines
its already been said but consuming other defilers and ultras (which is terrible, you can't help but watch the consume animation on the ultra knowing how much of a waste it is to get 50 mana lol)
also on destination when my third is being attacked and i select all my drones to go to my main mineral patch and they take the back way which hasnt been mined out so they just get chased down and owned
Pressing 'o' multiple times so my siege tanks siege up and then immediately unsiege. This was never a problem on b.net latency so I got used to doing it for 8 years, then LAN latency over b.net came out and I've been failing ever since!
Lifting the CC when building a comsat is also a major fail, but I haven't done that in a long time.
Once i was breaking a push and doing the Reach thing where you drop 3zlot and 1 HT in your shuttle and just after I 1a2a3a'd and was about to drop the units(from 2 shuttles actually) I hit the windows key. When I come back my entire army is melted and I have 2 full shuttles getting killed my goliaths.
made a shield battery instead of forge (no idea how that even happens, hotkeys arent even close). i don't notice because i suck; later i want to make cannons and see no forge so i make another forge... which also turns out to be a shield battery. i see 2 shield batteries in my main 10 minutes later and QQ

I make these mistakes quite often too...especially the mass hydra vs protoss without range

i used to have poor sunken colony placement, the marines would just run by everytime. spending minerals for the next hatchery and my timing goes away
in lategame ZvP, having units and bases on the entire map and forgetting like 30 units or something in the minimap
haha forgetting to upgrade storm happens to me all the time. like when i think i'm prepared to take on a group of hydra/lurk/lings and move in, my temps are useless and get killed in battle lol.
sometimes i panic when i see a reaver and when i'm trying to select probes, i select the nexus and my probes get owned.
without fail i always make one fac that blocks in a tank. i then lift it and land it somewhere that still blocks it so i have to kill 2 addons and lift it twice. I would be A+ if this did not happen every game.
i remember once it happened me to have like 6 templars (5 of them stacked) and instead of storming a few hydras i storm all my templars, then walk the 6th into the storm eventually killing it with a dragoon attack misclick because it was still alive after that. god.
i scout out a proxy barracks preparing for a bunker rush... defend it with my drones without losing a single one.... I look back at my base, 2 hatcheries done, no spawning pool.... fail
still ended up winning the game though ggogo drone micro

Another one I just remembered that's pretty random, for some reason I often tell my dropship to unload whatever it's unloading, then shift+click it to a random point on the map (instead of back to my base...) where I either lose it for ages or it dies
I don't play with the minimap set on enemy = red, so sometimes at the start of the game especially in TvZ, I open the ally screen to check what colour my opponent is, so that if his overlord appears on the minimap I'll notice. After opening the alliance screen, I press escape to close it one too many times, and end up cancelling my rax as well.

I scout a P FE, so cancel my pool at 90% so I can get a 3rd hatchery faster. It's only a second later when I realize that I was already at 300 minerals.
I'm setting up this epic flank with lurkerling, and everything goes right until T stims and simply runs his army out of the way. I forgot ling speed.
Rallied my hatcheries to outside T base so my Mutas get there quickly. They end up flying over M&Ms.
Get sort of sunken busted and almost lose my nat. Transition into 3 gas lurkerling, but find myself constantly low on gas the entire game. Watch replay and see that I forgot to replace gas drones in the nat.
Accidentally researched EMP first in TvZ because I forgot which icon irradiate was.
1a2a3aed M&Ms to outside Z base, and went back to macro. Check back a second later to find my hotkeys empty.
Interestingly enough, I don't think I really make these epic failures as P anymore.
Because I dont use the hotkey to build defilers, if i dont have enough gas for them I would spam the defiler button and when 150 gas comes up it builds the defiler and instantly cancels it.
(Because the defiler and cancel button is in the same spot).
Sometimes I am so not focused on game that I go for nice PvT build, eventho its PvZ. Nice to realize when u have ur first goon, that opponent is zerg :/.

Not that Antennae is that bad, especially vs terran who likes drops (or protoss). Terran scans overlords and can avoid their vision, but with antennae you still see drops :D. Managed to win few games because of this :D

I highly doubt that would happen in a progame unless maybe it was in Winner's League, the players know what matchup they're gonna be playing and practice specifically for the games so I guess that toss was just going some kind of 1 base tech build.
Once an opponent 5 pooled me on python tvz and i walled-in in a ling tight position. My scv who was building the 2nd depot just finished and was stuck outside. So i lifted my rax and 6 lings come running into my base
On a 3 player map playing against random. Sometimes I scout a main, find it empty then go to another one, find it's also empty. Then I look back to the first one I scouted and see zerg creep through the fog of war.
Of course this only seems to happen when I'm being 4pooled.

lol that reminds me of the time I was watching my friend DT rush this guy and as he arrived at the guy's wall with a single dark templar the guy lifted his barracks for literally the smallest possible amount of time to let an SCV out to scout the DT just ran in and the guy gg'd. It was such perfect timing.

Yeah that happens to me sometimes too =/ I shift+send SCV to all bases and forget about it or just don't go far enough into their base to see their stuff.

I somehow made a zergling instead of a mutalisk when I really needed a mustalisk in zvz. I rally 4 hatches where I want the units to go, and that 1 other hatch runs into his cannons every game. I think I click my mutalisks move, so I look away for a bit, and look back and hey they attacked that unit of marines hooray... Zvz I try and make a sunken but my mining drones continously block me over and over and over and omg so painful...
-Turret up thinking there were mutas coming, realizing there were lurkers, and seeing my turret block the space where I would build my comsat. -Realizing I didn't research range until mutas were already coming. -Walking massive control groups of m&m into lurkers. -Try to break a tank contain in TvT and losing everything before sieging up agaisnt them. -Doing the eraser on burrowed lurkers (my friend actually told me WTF ARE YOU DOING??!). -Lifting a barracks completing my wall to transfer scv's to my nat, and then having 3hatch speedlings run in and wreak havoc. -Accidentally highlighting all my scv's during the first minute of the game and making them mine one patch/spam s on them. -Transferring scv's and realizing several minutes later that my wall was blocking them. -Thinking that because my wall blocked a drone, I was safe from lings. I wasn't. -Upgrading siege while doing FD. -Upgrading Cloak for Wraiths to trick a T's floating barracks and actually letting it finish. I never used Wraiths that entire game. -Missing 2 proxy gates IN my nat on Python with my scouting SCV. -Mass half a control group of vessels or so only to realize Irradiate wasn't upgraded. -Instinctively macroing barracks by spamming M and realizing later I have 3 control groups of marines with no medics.
No wonder I'm still a D. Pretty sure there's more than this too >.<
Making academies instead of armories. Happens at a rate of about once every other game. Strangely enough, I don't have a problem with making vessels as opposed to BCs.
Went for storm while my opponent went mass goons in PvP Destination. Roll up to his base with 5+ templar and 1a2a3a4t. No storms. I go back to base and see that DA energy had been researched instead of storm. GG.

Making a second forge instead of a second gateway. I went for DT's after and still won. Forge FE vs Terran. I won when he went MnM Making a supply depot in place of my comsat, killing it with marines and then building a turret in the same spot. Templar energy instead of storm. EMP instead of Irradiate vs Zerg.
I was just playing a game on Destination were I was doing fantasy strat I drop the suply depot at 13 and he comes with a drone to attack it so with the intention of taking my SCV off my barracks with the escape key to keep building the supply depot, I hit escape with the barracks selected canceling it, the barracks had 990 life or so....
-Stopping workers in early game spam -On Tau Cross, plopping my depot in the choke and thus walling myself in indefinitely -Going to attack something, but forgetting to hit "a" and left-clicking and opponents unit then trying to do other tasks with that unit. - Also in early game spam, trying to rally my CC and instead pulling my workers (I really need to stop 121212112121212121212 at the beginning). - Accidentally setting my CC rally to the opponents base while trying to keep scout alive
These are just a few gems, which I'm sure I have plenty more of.
oh god i just played a pvt where i was getting ready for a big recall that could have ended the game. so i hit "r" and click on my units to recall, i check back on my arbiter and think "wtf why arent my units recalled" i do it again and click on my units again then i take a second to actually look at my units and it turns out i hit "t" instead and just stasised all my units twice by accident
-Lose 7 games in a row, the 7th being to something so horribly stupid (kind of like bisu forgetting hold position) that I nerdrage so hard that I slam my fist on my desk as hard as I can and end up injuring my pinky (it's been like 3 weeks and it still hurts when I move it LOL)
PvT I reaver drop him kill a few probes then look back at my base to see myself getting raped by a timing push. Alt+Q+Q
Another PvT I scout his SVCs building a wall at 3 on python, i'm at 8, so i make a mass of zealots/goons and rush em into there, and findout that that wall was a distraction and he has just sent out a timing push form his real main at 12. GG
Arbiter moves in to suiciderecall then the army u want to recall gets engaged by some shit so they move around instead of being in a clump. Forgetting to hold position the army u want to recall. And only the half of your army gets recalled and die too fast.
A-move zealots into tanks protected with mines.
storming only 2 hydras, and 2-3 seconds latere the rest of the hydra army arrives. I do this all the time.
Forgeting to make a pylon - just classic
U see the storm drop is coming in time and u stack ur probes to nearby minerals so they can escape - they all die ofcourse.

3 hatch muta: - Making a drone immediately after my 12 hatch (instant bunker rush half the time) - I had one game where I had 3 hatches down with 100 gas, hit 'L' for lair and realized I forgot the spawning pool. - Cycling through 5sz6sz7sh8sd9sz and finding 6 scourge in the mix because I hit 's' too fast - Finding no units after a macro cycle only to realize I had been pressing 5dxdx7dj8df9dx - The spire finishes and I realize too late I forgot my overlords - Consuming an ultralisk - Engaging a terran midgame army and realizing I forgot to make defilers
3 base spire into 5 hatch hydra - Forgetting scourge once the spire finishes - Moving the overlord at my 3rd out of position (DT rape always ensues) - Placing the scouting zerglings too far below the toss' gateway. I wind up with no static defense as they sneak out 3 zealots - There was this one game with a tense mid-map battle. There was no early game pressure, so I didn't have static defense. I hit F3 to check up on a building and noticed all my drones were gone. In fact, they were gone from all four of my bases! When I finally found the DT it had 55 kills T_T - Macroing very well, but realizing I forgot to upgrade past +1 missile. I don't care how well you macro, 3-0 protoss vs. 1-0 zerg is a 1a2a3a slaughter
In all matchups: - Putting down a building (most of the time a queen's nest), do a macro cycle, check back a minute later when the building should be done and finding an idle drone.
I also have a humerous picture of one of my opponents making what was most certainly a hotkey blunder. I'll edit it in later, but I can't help but chuckle every time I look at it!
