"Sorry, we don't carry [insert product]. I couldn't give you a new one if I wanted to."
"I bought this from your store just the other day and it broke! I want a new one."
*product is slightly dirty and a little scratched from regular wear and tear... windex+paper towel would fix it*
*argues for roughly 45 minutes to 2 hours, interrupting other customers and blockading sales*
"Okay, although it doesn't have a warranty and all sales are final and we have two signs, one on the counter in front of you, and one on the wall in front of your face... sure, we'll give you an exchange."
"No! I want my money back. If I get another one it's just going to break again."
"Okay, do you have the receipt?" (I'm expecting a "no")
"Yes I do" *shows receipt* (I'm somewhat surprised)
*receipt shows the purchase was made 6 months ago* (not surprised)
"I want an exchange! I just bought this yesterday and it's all broken"
(I was working yesterday, customer did not come)
"Okay sure, if the item is unused you can exchange it within 15 days."
"I don't have the receipt! I wasn't planning on it breaking!!"
"Well it's store protocol that you should keep your receipt or make record of your receipt number for exchanges. . . . *sigh* but don't worry, I'll look you up in the system."
*customer mumbles something along the lines of "damn right bitch"*
"The system says the last sale of this discontinued item was over 2 months ago..."
"WELL THAT'S WRONG!! BECAUSE I ... I'M NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN!!"
*customer storms off in a rage/embarrassment*
oh man, too many to tell...
