Just been reading this book by Richard Wumbrand, a guy who talks about how communism is evil, makes you wonder what you're doing about this kinda shit happening in the world?
+ Show Spoiler +In recent years, tens of thousands of Christians and Buddhists have passed through the so-called re-education camps in Vietnam. Many are still there. In one of these camps the specialist in beatings in Tu Cao. He boasts of having whipped 2000 prisoners, 500 of whom died.
Some fifty prisoners are assembled in the prison yard. One of them, Tran Tien Tai, has been sentenced to thirty lashes. Brought naked from his cell, he must stretch out on the earth, with his face to the ground.
Tu Cao plays with his whip. He touches the hips of his victim to appreciate the resistance of the flesh and measure his strokes accordingly. He is not allowed to kill.
The prisoners are ordered to look straight at what is happening. It is forbidden to avert one's face.
After the fifth stroke, Tai, unable to bear it any longer, shouts, 'Troi oi. Chua oi. (Woe, woe, my God.)'
The beating is interrupted. The prison director says, 'It is not permitted to shout during physical punishment. The first five strokes do not count. Begin again.'
The counting starts over. One, two, three... twenty... twenty-five... Tai does not cry out anymore. It appears that he has passed away.
...Thirty. 'Up!' orders the officer. The prisoner does not move. 'You refuse to obey?' No reaction. The officer bends over the corpse and says triumphantly, 'He has committed suicide. He has bitten off his tongue and swallowed it. It is his fault. The revolution does not kill men, neither does it torture. If it punishes, it does so like a father punishing his child.'

Communism isn't evil in that people are tortured, it's evil cuz it redistributes everything.
Torturing people is evil in itself. They do it in the name of communism though.
Eh, shit sucks.

That nerd should be whipped, see how long he "lasts"
Even 15 lashes will kill your ass if the guy whipping you is doing it vigorously
Sentencing someone to 30+ lashes with any sort of strength is tantamount to a death sentence

Communism is not evil. It is just an idea, that simply doesn't work out because it is flawed. Stuff like this is a by-product of failed Communism.
And are you sure this still happens? I mean, the guy (Richard Wurmbrand) died in 2001. Check the publishing date on your book.

This.
A Utopian society would run with communism, but humans are far more concerned with thier own well being rather than the good of the people as a whole, thus communism can never work.
