Piss the shit out me. Every time I see a typical Asian girl - smart, shy, hard working, stressed about bad grades... I get the sudden, unprecedented urge to gnaw on my own testicles and violently fuck a rusty, serrated pole. Something about these seemingly docile creatures [=typical Asian girls] strikes a nasty chord with me - the type of chord that makes me want to regurgitate until my pulsating intestines spill out of every hole on my head. Something about these... things enrages me to the point that I feel it necessary to stick sharp objects underneath my fingernails. But enough about what I would, hypothetically, do. Because I have encountered such an abominable critter recently, and suffice to say that I am not amused.
http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=262595
This bitch deserves a furious and fiery cock slap to the face. "HELP, I'm getting an A, I'm failing at life oh no~" Hold up, is this a serious thread? Just how badly do you want to push the Asian stereotype you little slut? You want to flaunt your grades that badly? What's that? Even your (once) proud and admiring parents have become so incredibly jaded by your outstanding grades that they don't even give a shit anymore? Well, I'll be damned. So you want to waste these poor internet denizens' time in order to boost your flattened ego! You create a phony "On no, I'm worried help me!" thread title to lure unsuspecting browsers. Secretly, you are dying with anticipation, smirking sinisterly, waiting for the inevitable praise and reassurance that yes, indeed, you are a fucking genius. Are you happy? Are you thrilled that random people are mollycoddling you, stroking your internet avatar's overblown, ego-inflated, imaginary twat?
I know, I know, maybe I've been spending too much time on TL where such nonsense would lead to auto-flame and closure. Yes, I know, Soompi warns people for using the word "shit".
But this is unacceptable. Posting a thread with such obviously evil, narcissistic intentions deserves to be righteously flamed. These Soompi residents are too nice, too bound to the rules; they're too polite and civil. They even encourage this ravenous, praise addicted, ego-junkie.
Somebody needs to flame this bitch, set her on fire, give her a much needed cock slap (a flaming cock if possible)... Oh, guess it's gonna be me.
-masami
Edit: Wow, what started out as a random, rather uncivilized rant has garnered a lot of unwanted attention and controversy. I totally understand the people that whole heartedly disagree with me (and flame me ;. . Heck, even I disagree with myself on some level!
After much pensive thought, I have come to a rather peculiar conclusion: I love typical Asian girls. More so than any other type of girl out there. The reason for my unfounded, highly irrational and obscene blog is... unclear, even to me. It may have to do with the fact that my previous girlfriend was a total workaholic and perfectionist; bitter memories, perhaps.
In another blog, created shortly after my own, the OP accuses me of a total lack of understanding: "So to OP of soompi girl rant, I can understand her motivation. Reason you can't is b/c you don't have the necessary catalyst. Everybody [who is not a total rotted shit](i think) comes across something they think they have to do. Cooking, music, art, going to korea to play OBN/OGN starleague. I'm sure Idra will be dissapointed if he practice 10+ hr per day, and loses a game to a practice partner. Why do i understand her need to succeed? Cuz 0. scholarship necesity, 1. I want to impress this very beautiful girl, 2. I want to prove that rock lee > neji, 3. I want to be top to be in medschool = become good surgeon = I Don't even know why i really want to go to medschool, jesus. Mainly, I just want a 4.0 to show off? cuz I didn't have in HS? I dunno...
ps - my roomate is exact oppoiste of me. 4,0 HS all throughout, ton of shit going on. Coll - doing shitty as hell."
Here is my response (and hopefully my last to clear this mess up):
"Hello. I never said I can't understand her motivation; In fact, I understand perfectly her motivation. And regarding my obscene language and profanity - I guess my filthy rant stemmed from the fact that I was just like her, and yet, as of now, I'm in the process of crashing and burning in the cruel sea of academic failure. I know, my blog was really overdone, but when I read that Soompi thread, I just became irrationally furious. Sure, everybody has different standards. Yeah, I understand that. In high school, I freaked out if I got a B+; the white kids were like, "Man, fuck you bitch!"
And yes, I'm Asian, so my parents wanted me to go to Harvard/Princeton/Yale and become a famous doctor/lawyer/businessman/CEO/rich guy/not even their son anymore but just a relative who earns a lot of money and we can brag to everybody about. Literally every waking moment of my life was plagued with, "Study!" or "Go to cram school!" or "Read!" or "It's 12 am, READ and DO MATH at the SAME TIME" or... you get the idea.
I came to University with a burning desire for knowledge and success. I worked on my essays like a madman (I'm a language major) - 4 hours every day, for 3 weeks. I get back my first essay on Plato and Odysseus which I toiled on until my fingers were cramping from excessive typing, and what is the little number I see? Oh wait, that's not a number, that's a D+! Great. And the TA's lonely comment: I don't agree with you. Well, that's just fine and dandy, thank you! You don't agree with my argument so you give me a D+. And that's where I began to lose my faith.
If I were to ever randomly run into Soompi girl, I would wholly commiserate with her. Because there was a point in time where I was just like her, stressing about the smallest things, working my ass off for more, more, more. I guess, for me, my rant is like a peculiar parent-child relationship clash, where the parent, upon seeing a quality of himself in his child - a trait which marred his perspective or crippled his morale and motivation - is accosted by unbearable sadness and illogical anger. Because I don't want bad shit to happen to other people, honest. I'm a nice guy...
Hell, that sounded incredibly hypocritical considering I just wrote that incredibly violent, vicious rant.
But anyway. Cheers to Soompi girl - I [painfully] wish her success."
In short, I offer my sincere apologies to anyone who was offended by my rather obscene blog. Thanks.
-masami

People needing to have better grades to have better lives are completely fucking stupid, I know exactly what you mean

This is what I was thinking too, I told you on AIM. It's so blatant it's not even funny. FFS OMG U THINK ITS OVER IF U DONT HAVE A 4.0 GPA? LOL

i thought this was going to be a thread complaining how all the asian girls are getting with white guys ostenibly because white guys are more outgoing but its really because asian girls feel white guys will help them break the glass ceiling in banking/medicine/law through connections but in reality are just trading their poontang for something that will turn them into trophy bitches.
i guess this works too though.

Who cares, she's complaining because she can do better than what she's doing. Everyone has different goals to set for yourself. No need to get so upset jesus christ.

One thing that was a surprise to me is the +/- system (where A- counts as a 3.7 instead of a 4.0, and B+ counts for a 3.3 instead of a 3.0, etc...)
I hate high schools where they can give you a 5.0 because you take AP and got an A! God. Damn. It. So retarded.
I agree. A nice mushroom stamp will do her much benefit.

There's hating something and ranting about it. And then there's going out of your way to find someone who does what you don't like and wanting to make them miserable. Why exactly?...

Sometimes an A isn't good enough when you need a full scholarship to get post-secondary education.
These people feel stressed out because the difference between getting somewhere and getting fucked is always like "did I get 89% or 90+... Even then, am I beating out everyone else competing for the same money?"
Be happy mum and dad are paying for your school, jerk. Lots of families can't, which means working for a long time just to scrounge the money for tuition. If the difference between and A and an A+ meant a year of your life working, or a year going to school and getting on track faster, you'd probably be stressed too. Not to mention the immense pressure some parents put on their kids to do well, for which A- isn't acceptable to them.
Just FYI to the ignorant.
|
bleh...some people actually have really high standards. I know plenty of people that are always that genuinely concerned about the difference between an A and A+ or something like that.
Though posting that on a forum is kind of overkill and is probably just someone seeking attention xP.

Asian Girls makes perfect sense, if you've ever lived with Asian parents.
The sort that can either lock you in the house or give you a beating for not getting >95% in marks. Seriously, competition are hard if you are in the circle. When you look at all the Asian children stuck in school from 7:30am to 8:00pm day in and day out, getting anything BUT PERFECT in North American's failure of an educational environment that is designed for lazy people that'd spend time playing Starcraft rather than study is a failure compared to her peers at their home country. Either one succeed in school or fail at life and is not worthy of being raised.....that is the choice

Whats better than an A in university? My uni doesn't have A+! =[ Depends where you go. My university has this retarded system where every grade thing is a number. A+ 10, A 9, A- 8, B+ 7, B 6, B- 5 and so on... To keep my scholarship of a pitiful 500 dollars a semester, I need at least a GPA of 8.5. So basically better than A-.

I think it's this blog's OP that got carried away...Honestly, why are you so irked by her post? And why not question her as to her motives directly, rather than flaming her on TL with assumptions based off of a single post? And in such a derogatory manner. To be honest, it seems to me her post is far less deserving of criticism than the OP.
Also, to the posts thinking that she's just attention-whoring: What about the possibility that the difference does in fact, for whatever reason, matter for her, thus making all of her concerns legitimate? Is her post, in which she politely seeks advice, while potentially simultaneously "flaunt[ing]" her intellect and seeking attention, really worse than the posts flaming her?
Just imo.

I'm a senior in high school, and so far, the difference between A's and A+'s makes a huge difference. My school goes by a 12 point scale, 12 being the highest you can make for an A+ in a non AP class, 15 for the highest in an AP class. A B+ in an AP class is also a 12, so it's equivalent to an A+ in a non AP class. My valedictorian to be has a GPA of about 14 (that's basically getting perfect A+'s in all of his AP classes taking into the non AP classes that he needed for graduation. I have around a 13.2ish, and I'm about 15 people behind him. So basically I consistently make an A or A- in a couple of classes that he always makes A+'s in. He's getting a full ride to wherever he wants to go, and I get nowhere near that.

I haven't talked to many, but in my experience the Asian girls I've met weren't 100% school freaks... It was just one facet of their personality, and frankly I was happy to give them the right to do it because I would never study 8 hours straight everyday for a whole school year.

the reason the girl's high school probably didnt is because the UC application is a 5/4/3/2/1 scale where it corresponds to A(Hon. or AP = +1)/B/C/D/F so alot of public schools California use the same system. of course, out of state and private schools will reweight so its not an unfair advantage or anything

Yeah. I think it's because of my first girlfriend. She was literally a perfect... and I mean PERFECT girl. She got a 2390 on the SAT and she retook it. Haha. Oh my god.

Part of it is varying expectations. Some people are taught that grades are all that matter, and will determine their success as a human being. It's a cultural thing.
Some girls cry here when they get below 40 points in IB.

If they can get an 89% they can get a fucking A.. Its not like they couldn't be successful without their amazingly good school they have a 5% chance of not getting into anyway.. Too much motivation i think.. Lend me some you bitches. fuck

I could literally get an A+ or F and it would make no difference in my life. Recently when I got NOT just 1, but TWO A- on my midterms, instantly I felt a little sad because its hard not to think I could had done a lot better. I go home to watch Heroes then think,"Hiro is such a nerd yet the best character" then life is all better.
I agree with the OP. That is good porn yes?

No, come on, it's not that. I once dated a girl who was so achievement-oriented that, while she was interning, developed a blocked ureter and kept plugging away in her LevFin group, delaying her own kidney surgery and eventually lost one of her kidneys because of it.
I'm not saying that this girl is a bad person, but you've got to keep people like her away from you with a ten-foot pole because they might value their own achievements over their health, their relationships, their friendships, etc. And that's when it gets fucked up.

I'm not saying that this girl is a bad person, but you've got to keep people like her away from you with a ten-foot pole because they might value their own achievements over their health, their relationships, their friendships, etc. And that's when it gets fucked up.

plus, if the girl had any perspective, she would know all she would get is fucking "oh no you're fiiiiine lol ur smarter than me wtf stop worrying" replies

Half of why I think this thread is stupid is because the OP is not really about asking "what the hell kind of people do that" but instead based around "man i should slap that bitch with my cock." That aside,
There are people who respond to getting into substandard schools by getting incredibly stressed out, especially if they've failed to live up to their standards. I think the mindset runs, "fuck i didn't do well in hs and now I'm here, shit, if i don't get straight As here i really do have to kill myself now." If it's not for that reason, if she got offered money by Irvine than elsewhere, that could be it, I have a friend who went to SD over Cal (partially) because she got a full ride there and little-none at Berkeley.

Well, she's at Irvine, so either she didn't get in elsewhere or she picked it over another UC for some reason or another. If it's the second, for whatever, maybe she's just a crazy worried perfectionist that unhealthily obsesses over grades; if she's gotten straight As all her life and she doesn't think she'll be able to keep it up in college; her courseload will only get harder than it is now and she might be really worried about that. I would agree that she is putting too much emphasis on grades and less on others, etc. But if it's the first (maybe it's rather unlikely, I don't know the stats too well), maybe her courseload was relatively easy or she had no extracurriculars to speak of and straight As through high school weren't enough to get her in, I would hesitantly guess at my theory, although of course it could just as easily not be that.
Either way I don't think the OP is called for.

the difference between my response to the OP and the OP's response to the girl is that i took his post at face value. he went ahead and made all of these assumptions about the girl. when you dont know anything else about the person, the most you can do is take their post at face value.

But seriously, not all girls are like that here in Asia. There are some creeps around but most are cool. Most of the girls I've met are cool to say the least. There are some really smart ones but aren't all over their grades because they do realise that grades are after all just a small part of life. It ain't everything.

I think it's fine that the girl has high expectations of herself, I just question her motive for posting it in a forum for strangers (even if they weren't, it was still posted to the public). I would just ask my friends; better yet, I wouldn't ask anyone. I wouldn't be questioning my own standards and assume that I'm not overreacting.
I'm not sure why she would need validation from people on a forum for a standard she has set for herself. No one else would be able to comment on it anyway because they don't share the same standards.
Other than that, I have no problem.

she's at UCI which means she got rejected from San Diego, Berkeley, and UCLA. she was probably a boring ass 4.0 student in HS and got rejected by all the good schools because she's so one dimensional and only did well in school and showed absolutely no personality in any other aspect of her life.
that's why it's funny to see all the asians running around at UC's who were perfect in HS (because HS is so easy its a fucking joke) and get so depressed when they start seeing A-'s and B+'s rolling in.

I think we're talking about Korean-Americans, not Korean-Korean, although girls (like mostly high school) in Korea are so much more obsessed. They are fucking robots - all they do is study. Of course when they go to college they just let loose because they are finally free from their parents.

While useless bastards will get drunk, have sex 10 times a week, she will work on her career. Different people different goals. Get over yourself
And about Asian girls... my GF came from china to study in Edinburgh and she tells me to stfu when I talk so obsessively about issues in economy, which she kinda studies as well plus on a higher level.

lol well we were talking about girls so i was only talking about korean girls in korea, but of course it does apply to guys as well!
i don't know much about korean culture since i haven't lived there since 3 so i was only making assumptions, but from what i've heard from my cousins and such the studying stuff is intense. like they will most likely be occupied with studying. my cousin told me that all he did was go to school->eat a snack->hakwons ->come back home at like 12 AM and study, sleep, repeat process and he was only a middle schooler at the time.
and whether or not guy or girl friends, no one really comes to mind when it comes to people who are totally obsessed about their grades. of course they would care about grades, but wouldn't panic about an A- instead of an A, ya know? i guess it is a good thing... idk you decide :D

It's ok, you broke the stereotype when pictures of you surfaced showing from the waist up.

hahaha i agree with you to some point, i've known girls at uni who were like this. the holier-than-thou "perfect" asian girls who stresses over their grades. but in the end, most of them, i noticed, the reason they do that is because... well, their grades are the only thing they can control. They dont have anything else really. I'm not generalizing, i'm just talking about a handful of girls i met and got to know at school. they all had overbearing parents and were scared to death of disappointing them.

I'd make a post about how angry this blog makes me.
But I have to study.

Yeah, I have pretty overbearing parents, too. I'm the only child, so I have even more pressure than usual! =(

So because some Korean girl has larger than Asian average breasts, she breaks the nerd stereotype? ....How does that even work?

But really, they have no legal right to steer your life when you are considered an adult so its just for you to make your choice. And here I do not mean "you" but young people in general, especially girls who have a hard time standing up against their parents.

To be honest, I still have a very tough time with my parents, in various aspects in life. It's how most Asian kids were brought up, to respect your parents until the day you die. Living in a western society but being brought up with Eastern values is tough to do. I've done what I could and my parents have finally agreed on a compromise, but honestly, there's no such thing as going against your parents simply because there's "no legal right" for them to "to steer your life" -- no matter how much of an adult I become, they will always be my parents, always be the ones who gave me life, thus, will always be the ones I "fear" (for a lack of better vocabulary).

Anyhow, in my opinion the parents should respect their grown up child as much as they want the child to respect them, if they want you to be someone you don't want to be then it is up to them to change and not you. This of course assumes that you don't do anything really bad, but as long as they are only pushing you because of their own prestige then you have every right to confront them.
But then I have not had any restricting parents since they basically did not care for me at all so maybe I am just clueless on the issue.

Susie was being facetious. So was I. If that gets your panties in a twist I really don't know what to say to you.
