like, i totally went to a state school in jersey and drove a black souped up honda civic (my ricer) and studied all the time, there was this one time i got a B+ and i thought i was going to commit suicide but then my awesome church group friends helped me out of the depressed time, i mean, i didnt want to disgrace my ancestors and i thought about all the money my parents were making and investing in me while working at the dry cleaners. It's ok, you broke the stereotype when pictures of you surfaced showing from the waist up. So because some Korean girl has larger than Asian average breasts, she breaks the nerd stereotype? ....How does that even work?
Yes.
+ Show Spoiler +White dudes won't care that she is a nerd, or notice it in that matter.

Yeah, pretty terrible... -_- It was just like pent up anger I guess? You know, everybody has those moment where they just UNLEASH on something totally harmless (and likable in fact). Or is it just me? T_T hahaha i agree with you to some point, i've known girls at uni who were like this. the holier-than-thou "perfect" asian girls who stresses over their grades. but in the end, most of them, i noticed, the reason they do that is because... well, their grades are the only thing they can control. They dont have anything else really. I'm not generalizing, i'm just talking about a handful of girls i met and got to know at school. they all had overbearing parents and were scared to death of disappointing them. Then be a man and put your foot down on your parents! + Show Spoiler + :p
But really, they have no legal right to steer your life when you are considered an adult so its just for you to make your choice. And here I do not mean "you" but young people in general, especially girls who have a hard time standing up against their parents.

To be honest, I still have a very tough time with my parents, in various aspects in life. It's how most Asian kids were brought up, to respect your parents until the day you die. Living in a western society but being brought up with Eastern values is tough to do. I've done what I could and my parents have finally agreed on a compromise, but honestly, there's no such thing as going against your parents simply because there's "no legal right" for them to "to steer your life" -- no matter how much of an adult I become, they will always be my parents, always be the ones who gave me life, thus, will always be the ones I "fear" (for a lack of better vocabulary).

I didn't say that it was easy.
Anyhow, in my opinion the parents should respect their grown up child as much as they want the child to respect them, if they want you to be someone you don't want to be then it is up to them to change and not you. This of course assumes that you don't do anything really bad, but as long as they are only pushing you because of their own prestige then you have every right to confront them.
But then I have not had any restricting parents since they basically did not care for me at all so maybe I am just clueless on the issue.

Susie was being facetious. So was I. If that gets your panties in a twist I really don't know what to say to you.
