EPTI took a long break after cleaning the dungeon. But i started playing again and i just beat Maevar with a level 9/10 party. Was quite intense. I couldnt use lure and lame tactics so i had to try some new kinds of spells that i have almost never used ( dispells and stuff like this ). But first i needed a tank to handle the nasty thieves bowmen.
I took Korgan and gave him some potions, Baldur's helm, my best armor ( a full plate ) a ring +1 and i used all my spell buffs on him. But that wasnt enough he would die in like 20s anyway, ( after being crucified by a bunch of arrows ).
So i bought the awesome anti-proj shield with my savings. Now Korgan could tank without too much problems. But there was still a difficulty: the assassins with their damn backstabs and potions. Hopefully the really underused True Vision spell countered those pesky thugs.
i had just to find a way to deal some damage now.
Edwin was the solution, with 4 death clouds and 4 fireballs i really hurt them ( also i have to mention the wonderful druid spell "Swarm", which the only reason i keep Jaheira in my party ) i finished them with Minsk and Korgan buffed with ranged weapons. Nevertheless i suffered some casualties, Vicky got sniped
( i will have to try again because i don't like to lose a char in a fight and i'm a perfectionnist )I also tried to use the Djinn gift of the Unfinished Business mod ( circus quest ) with the wish "Kill all my ennemies" ( make your caracter cast a Banshee shout ) but it didnt really worked this time ( in some previous unsuccessful tries it did
).Btw i had an horrible bug ( immortal trolls ) and i had to use cheat ( teleport to avoid this fight ).
Oh and my assassin sucks balls, he watched the whole Maevar fight without doing anything ( if he go melee he gets killed in 5s and he sucks at ranged weapon ).
I will have to wait a long long time to see him trully effective ( i will make him a priest after his level 20+ assassin ). When he will be like 22/26 he will trully kickass :p but so far i feel like playing with a party of 5 chars...
Also it seems that the tactics fights make my old comp lag somewhat. All the auto buffs when the start start make it laggy.
So i ask you my dear BG2 experts, what should be my next quest ( ofc a Tactic quest
) i'm really not sure to try the druid quest or the De Arnise castle because of the annoying troll bug i have just discovered .Maybe i will try the group with the +3 Katana in the district of temples. I have heard that the Tactic version is really hard :p
