So my teacher gave me this take-out exam about some questions about the elections and politics, and stupid google just can't seem to find the answers(must be my weak googling skills). I was wondering if you knew the response to these, dont' worry, they aren't TOO hard.
1)What is the reason behind choosing the two cities in which the national political conventions took place?
2) Identify the three most important items of business that are conducted at these national meetings (on both sides).
3)what was the rationale of barack and mcCain to choose the vice-residential candidates they chose.
4)Identify three ideas or proposals (planks) in the platforms of the democrats andthe Republicans.
seems to me that 3 & 4 are kind of similar, but I don't know what the teacher means by "planks in the platforms".
EDIT: I'll get #2, shouldn't be too hard should it, i mean, its they're main points, i'm bound to find a link that will help me.
EDIT2: thank ya'll that I didn't post all 20 questions, all I need are #2 and #4.
1) Basically because that state is either republican/democrat and/or they feel they havent reached out to those states and in an attempt to get more votes in those important states they held them there.
2)This question..I think you mean what each candidate was preachy to the public. If so ill answer it later lol.
3)Barack needed someone with experience and was a quality player and Mccain I feel panicked and picked a young woman for VP to generate hype. I also forgot to mention because she lives in alaska and theres oil drilling being done. Yes I feel mccain rushed it because a better choice would have been Joe Lieberman.
Why don't you just do your homework yourself... Or join a forum devoted to homework threads. IIRC, there got to be an overwhelming number of these on TL and they started having to be closed.

because you should read all of my original post.
edit: yo dude, I still got like 20 Calculus problems to do, An essay about stupid politics, and I have to read a couple of Chapters in this book cuz were gonna have a quiz, I need to lay some weight off my back.
1. Is so easy to answer. TDS, my friend. 2. I don't think the answer she wants is about their speeches. The speeches the candidates give at these things aren't generally taken seriously, as no one ever fulfills them and often presidents go different routes. My guess is she's looking for the types of official decisions that are made at the conventions. 3. This should be easy for you to find at any political blog/news site. 4. Again, you should do this on your own.

#1 -- no idea for republicans. but for democrats, colorado is a swing state leaning to the left. also maybe they wanted to get high (LOLOLOLOLOLOL)
#2 -- nothing. nothing. nothing. seriously tho... they pick a candidate, they vote on party rules, they pick a vice president. mostly it's just a huge party to make their case to the public.
#3 --
Barack was weak on experience in general, foreign policy in particular. Biden had been in the senate since '72 (73?) and had sat on the foreign relations committee for a while, and is currently its chairman. Biden also had an appealing background -- he was born into a "blue-collar" family and had lost his family to a car accident just after being elected to the senate.
McCain is unpopular among many conservatives because of his habit of working with democrats on legislation that broke with Republican orthodoxy. Yet part of his appeal was also his independent, outsider image. So he picked someone with a strong socially conservative background and that the establishment was unfamiliar with.
#4 -- read the platforms and look for three ideas they're proposing. pretty similar. planks are a synonym for policies.
