The city i live in has become a criminal nest and nobody is safe anymore.
One year and a half ago the first incident happened. 4 cops were killed by ak-47 and there was a big persecution around the city. It ended with 4 guys being arrested, a house full of weapons and coke seized, and some injured civilians. It was the first big shit in aguascalientes, which used to be a safe "small" town.
Time went on. Now you were hearing more often in the news about about drug lords here in ags(aguascalientes) and raids the police did.
Soon after, news about cops being killed every thursday were aired. People started to panic. It was on the outskirts of the city were most of the shootings were done, but it was here still.
But this kind of things are growing in a exponential level. Killings on thursdays stopped and now there were shootings all around the city ( i remember one right infront of my college ). The cops were scared. They were fighting with pistols against assault rifles and they were being killed. The toll was rising quickly. Up to 30 cops have been killed by now in shotings.
The last week, one famous businessman was killed in plain daylight, really near the club i go to excercise. It was a warning to all civilians. (Unofficial stories report that he would not help smuggle drugs to other parts). He was a friend of my mother an a known guy from the club i go. I dont know if the police did their work or not, or if it was the civilian pressure on the gobernor, but last monday, 11 thugs were captured by the police.
How did the drug lords responded? Today a bomb was found in one of the most popular shopping malls.
Lesser criminals are hitting on everyone. Me, some of my friends, and a couple of relatives have been robbed/beated by this lesser criminals. The cops are not doing anything. We will soon need the bloody military to help us out. And this was a quiet town. Everybody is getting scared. Histeria. Geez. If i only could do something about it...

Aren't there huge crime problems all over Mexico now?
I live in San Diego, and kids won't even go down there on spring break anymore.
Regardless, that really sucks. Do you think the police are getting paid off maybe?
|
Wow, that really sucks dude.
It's really scary to think of all the things going on down there, and it must be even worse to actually be LIVING there.
Hopefully the military gets there soon, cause it sounds like things are just going to keep getting worse.
Why do the cops only have pistols?
Anyways, I'll keep you in my thoughts.
Edit: Just out of curiosity, what city are you iN?
|
Reasons like that are why my parents got the fuck out of Mexico.
But seriously. I'd tell you to get a gun, and start defending yourself. I have no idea if it will make it worse, or however. When are the Mexican military coming? Shit dude.

you and your friends need to band togeather and arm up. its a fucken primative thing to do but its the best way to make it until the cops can regain control or the military comes. walk around the neighborhood and speak to people who are willing to band togeather.

You need to get out bro, gl

i dont think gather your buddies and arm up is a good idea :S, i mean the cops are beeing killed, they have guns and training.

A big issue about guns here is that the authority treats you like a criminal and the criminal gets treated by a victim. Imagine that you manage to get a gun. You use it and injure the bloody robber. You WILL go to jail because cops have no mercy on civilians, and get beated up btw. Now you'll spend in jail some days until you get a good lawyer that can get you out. You will probably be flagged with criminal background and it will fuck up your job life.
I hate the fucking government. Mexico is so fucking spoiled by corrupt people. And its probably the way they teach the people. "If you dont get fucked, dont care". That's why even if somebody is being robbed, people just turn their face around and they pretend not to see whats happening. That's why everything is full of corrupted people.
Im so frustrated because there so little i can do about it.

no guns = less killings. ban the guns. make it a death sentence to possess a gun. ez. this is the way it works in my country.

Banning guns is such a good idea! Criminals would never break the law and buy a gun or anything, they're such law-abiding citizens!
|
Fuck, I have an even better idea! Let's ban killing! Let's make it illegal and punishable by death to murder someone! That'll solve the problem, fast!

Wow that sucks I didn't know it was getting that bad down there. Didn't seem to bad at all when I went down there this summer. But wasn't Aguascalientes that got all there policemen taken away by a higher up law enforcement because of corruption a couple of years ago or was that Telpacatepec?
Might not be either, but do remember hearing it on the news that an entire city/state got all policemen taken away because of corruption with drugs.

Lay low. Chances are if you don't piss anyone off, they won't gun for your head. When you can, get the fuck outta there.

That's insane man... Every time I am in Mexico City at the Zocolo, something insane is going on. Last time there was a riot, mass nude photography, drunk/drugged dudes, Catholics, Christians, and tourists all in the same spot. Mexico gets nuts. It sucks when they only thing you have to protect you is the police, and even sometimes they are corrupt. Giving false tickets to people and taking bribes, etc... The guilty until proven innocent system is very tough too.
Best of luck, can you go somewhere else in Mexico? Look for a scholarship at a college here in the US, so many schools have a surplus of funds.

reminds me of the movie "City of God"
