I seriously hate people who join a game and switch races at the last possible second. The button disables with like two seconds left in the countdown, but somehow they manage to switch after that, seriously, WTF?
For example: I just played a game on iCCup, the guy joins my game and picks Z. Alright cool PvZ is fun (maybe), I keep my eye on his race just to make sure he's not a lamer and switches, and it STAYS ZERG. Game starts and everything is going good, I start my Pylon and Forge at my nat and move a Probe to the edge of my base just to make sure he's not going to Overlord Trick me. Nope, no Overlord there.
I scout the other two spots... not there. I see a teal dot in my base and there he is, a Probe in my base. I get raped by 6 Dragoons a few minutes later.
Yeah, I guess it's not really too well worth it to talk about, maybe I just needed something for my first blog post. ;p

theres a small delay after you switch, so that if you time it right it can change at the very last second before the game starts.
it's bm, and generally the people who do it are just looking for some unfair advantage because they feel they can't win without it.

and there is also something where if you hold your mouse over a race and don't switch it until the game forces you to (near end of countdown) then it wont register.

I know what you mean, but a FE is at least doable...
It's worse when they start as terran and then switch to zerg at the last minute.
Here I am having fun getting my core when his five-pool zerglings run in and destroy my probes...

i always stare at their race until the screen changes now. but i swear that once or twice i stared until the last moment, remembered what race it displayed, and then they got something else in the game. it is pretty gay. but i'd rather play someone who picks at last second, as long as i can see it, rather than the guy who won't start until you type out your race in the chat box. wtf? whenever someone asks "race?" when i've already picked protoss, i always tell them that my race is displayed next to my ID at the top of the screen -_-

Going 1 gate -> assym -> zelot- build. U will find him fast enough even if hes random to vary ur build depending on mu, IF u scout after pylon(i mean even in 4 player map and he is in the last spot to scout..) <---- my tip if ur not 100% sure about his race(late switch = never know about the real race)

Yea that delay after a race switch is really annoying. I played a "TvT" once and went 12rax/12gas and got raped by 9pool.

Yeah it's bm. I like doing it though.  You get a small advantage if he didn't notice it, and you won't get kicked for choosing Zerg (he might leave right at the start though).

thats why you get drop hack so when you see those 6 dragoons you just whip that out and go get a drink while he struggles with it.

It's even more annoying if you are playing for fun and only want to play certain matchups. For example, I hate ZvZ. If I am wasting some time and just want a couple fun games, I'll pick P or T because they're much more enjoyable to play vs Z for me. Then he switches to P or T himself, and I have no damn clue how to play those matchups.

I always want to see the race of the player I am against so if someone does not pick race then I tell them to :p

race switching in team games is fun (such as when you and your friends all choose Z to scare them and right before the game starts choose another race... mindgames!)
however, race switching in 1v1 is lame. it shows that they can't take you on straight up, and that they have to resort to deception outside of the game to beat you inside of it.

I've had this happen once so far this iccup season. He showed T and somehow got P so I went 13 nexus on Longinus.... I won the game though so it was all good. The worst is when they somehow get Z off of showing P/T because generally that can be an instant gg if they 6 pool or something.

And my awesome 4man worker rush. My adrenaline starts pumping, I send my first 4 workers, then I get granted gosu worker micro from the gods of all things holy. Then, once neither of us have workers left, I just wait longer than my enemy :D
