Okay in the vein of my admin hwaiting post I keep getting people who check the /admins command and whisper "Hey admin can you help me?" or "hey admin wake up need help" or even just "help me"
My favorite are the people who ask me to clear their stats and plead and argue for 5 minutes even though I tell them admins won't clear their stats. So lets review a few things about iCCup admins:
- Admins do not clearstats unless it's as a punishment for abuse and will not transfer you so do not ask.
If you want to clearstats type /clearstats YES on the server. To transfer type /transfer (new name) You can only use ONE of these per week and have to wait a full week after you use one to do the other or do it again. If you ask an admin they won't transfer you
- Not all admins are ladder admins, asking them about your disconnect or even telling them about your disconnect won't get you anywhere unless you know they're a ladder admin. Even if they are a ladder admin they'll just tell you to submit a complaint.
- Not every admin is a tech guru who can tell you EXACTLY why your launcher doesnt work properly. There is a technical issues forum under the iccup forum not the broodwar forums in which you can look for people with similar problems or post your problem
- If your flag is wrong pestering an admin on the server with "CHANGE FLAG?!" will result in that admin using /ignore on you. Go to the contact a webmaster forum under the iccup forums and post in the correct topic.
- If you find a hacker the best way to report it is to just submit a complaint against the game asking for your points back or if you won submit the complaint anyway. The abusers forum has been converted to deal with stats abusers.
Anyways just been getting annoyed by people asking about all of that recently and posting on the iccup forum does about as much good as shouting at the sun to go away.
-edit: I'm not saying you cant approach admins on the server with your problems just try to be polite about it instead of acting like we're just mindless slaves to your whims and they'll be nice and direct you to where to go for help if they can't do it themselves

yeah I agree, though the response on the forum can be a bit slow sometimes, but I can understand that.
as far as my experience goes, icc admins are doing a great job. keep it up!

so far i posted a complaint and it was resolved within like a week during the server crash so i wasn't displeased by that performance at all considering how many complaints there were!

since this is here how does one chage there name on iccup.The team i was on is disbaned and id like to just have my plain FuDDx name.If nothing you can do you can just /ignore me ^_^

You know, I started playing ICCup because I thought there would be more mature people online than East pub players, I was sadly mistaken ..

I was an admin for a Q3 league for a while and had to deal with lots of annoying kids too.
You should make some kind of FAQ (like what you wrote here) on the iccup page so you can always direct them to that page/answer instead of telling them the same again and again.

So what you're saying is... in every case people should just use the iccup forum instead of asking for help over the server? It's unclear to me, since you didn't actually make a direct statement.
What is the function of an admin on the server? Just organizing tournaments or something? Is there ever a good reason to whisper an admin? Could you list acceptable things to ask admins, related to their adminly status?
You talk about everything you hate, but you don't say what is allowed... It seems all you want to do is make yourself unapproachable.

You make a new account with the name you want and transfer your stats to it.

there is a channel that will occasionally be open called iCCup Tech Support with admins sitting in there willing to answer questions about tech and other problems but when you have a ladder question asking on the server gets you nowhere unless its something extremely out of the ordinary. For ladder issues they need all the information from the server and a replay which requires submitting a complaint. Tournament admins are like the only admins that work completely on the server.
The problem is the website is the main place to go if you have a problem admins will sit in the 2x2 channel and remind people to use the /ally command and other things they'll help direct you where you need to go if you need help but most of the time issues arent immediately solveable on the server. But admins come on to the server to help things run more smoothly anyway.
and FuDDx theres no name change feature you have to make a new name then /transfer (newname) be careful to make sure you type the name correctly because it's hard to reverse if you mess up.
