The best way to mass level is by going back once you get to that Coastal town... wtf is it called... Where you can buy that villa. Those kids are outside kicking the ball around. Anyways, once you make it to there by the boat. You take a boat back to that edge place, but stay in the shinra city. There is some random tunnel some where in that place, I think it's between the two halves of the town. You run down to the end, and set off the alarm. There is a button on the side of the wall. Then just run around and you get into random encounters. The monsters are extremely over leveled, and give you mad experience.

You obviously need Beta, which can be taken from the Midgar Swamp Snake by using that Enemy Ability Materia. It does massive damage. (To get Beta, you have to be pretty powerful as well. You need to beat that snake down quite a bit, then it'll use Beta. If even one character lives, run your ass out of there. Even if the character with Enemy Ability Materia dies, he still gets the skill.)

I reached level 50 in no time, which makes everything else in the game. A huge breeze.

Also another little tip. Always keep your characters Hypered. You may miss when you attack more. But it's barely noticeable. The benefit to this, is the fact you get 50% more limit break bar increases when you get hit.

How did you survive Beta? I did it one time without going the farm... specifically I ran through, and if you time it just right, you can get to the other side.

Yeah that may be the place. I don't think the guys who made FF7 realized, you could go back there and fight the monsters. When in reality you should only be going back there around disc 2.

You don't need to survive beta. I forgot to mention that the snake sometimes knocks one of your characters out of the battle. Usually before he casts Beta. So if the remaining two or one party member dies in the battle from Beta. You don't get a game over screen. However if one of those characters, has that materia equiped, they still learn Beta.

A really easy way to get past the snake, is to just run as fast as you can through it, before it gets to you. Save your game. Reload, and run like hell some more. The snakes position resets when you reload so you have more running time.

I really prefer, just going with the normal story line though, and just getting a chocobo. Just me though...

elemental materia junctioned with one of the elements(which one escapes me at the moment) and you take less damage, plus leveling up a bit and the person with the enemy skill materia will live.

Then pwn it with some mad style limit break as it normally uses beta around 1k hp left
