So sMi.Newb recently got me into poker(bastard). Well aside from that I put 20$ bucks on and since my dollar is more than whatever they use i got 20.53.
Ok so it starts off bad I lose quite a few hands at .02/.04 blinds. I leave that table with about 1$ in losses.
My next two tables i put .80cents on each. On one table I do amazing and triple my total, while on the other I gain about .40cents.
No more than 20 minutes later I join a tournament with a 2+.2 buy-in. Currently i'm 1.5 hours in to the tournament with 17500 chips within the top 30 out of 1795 players.
Currently there are about 450 including myself left in play, with a top prize of $633.34 2nd $375.16 3rd $220.79.
Tournament finished for me anyways. I made one stupid mistake and ended 318th. Still i won $3.23

Go play .01/.02 NL. Its way better than 02/04 limit. GL btw, and congrats on your first tourney cash.

I was kinda surprised that I did as well as I did. but for now i'll learn the ropes and not lose much with limit

Meh, just stone wall the best you can in large tourneys. Only play hands where you're 95% sure you're going to win. Also never back out of folding if you have serious doubts. The biggest weakness a lot of players have is not learning when you should call it quits and bail. But yeah not bad for your first tourney dude. GL on future ones.

Did he teach you poker himself? Or did he point you to some places to learn?
Im looking into learning poker myself. Nothing really seriouse, but so i can atleast play with some friends you know. Whenever those things come up. And maybe try myself abit online further down the road.

Keep playing the 1$ and 2$ tournaments, they are great, I built a 20$ roll into 250$. Even complete newbs can win those things if you keep giving them a shot. I won 6th in a 1$MTT and got about 60$.
Later titled like a douche and lost it all in like 3 days being a retard, basically lost like 3 months of work and I was finally getting somewhere, but was a fun experience, liquidpoker's vent made the grind almost worth it.
