I'll reveal them in respective order.
The first regards ilovezil asking whether or not I could (I assume from all context given) intertwine photographs in with my story. There are, sadly, no such gifts of the past. However, I am going to be gone from this wonderful online community for about two weeks starting this Friday, and pictures will be taken.
I'll honestly consider uploading some and putting them into the next entry. I'll be considerate about it to those who don't wish to see my ugly mug, though, and put them in spoiler tags for those who simply wish to read. :p
The second topic is this: Evan's thread about playing StarCraft upside down. Now, I know some might consider this immediately stupid, and it is a little. But, so what? The point isn't that it's something useful or something mindblowing. It is simply a matter of actually having fun with this game. Don't get me wrong, I fully support competitive play and think that it can bring fun as well. However, some forget that it's supposed to be fun and only start taking happiness from improvement and significant wins, never anything else.
I think players like Testie (not trying to suck up, just making a point) have the right idea. He's a skilled player and obviously plays for competition, but how many times has he been in Op TL-West playing UMS with everyone? It's the point of having fun outside of that single-minded competitive nature, winning in other areas of gameplay, and simply exposing yourself to more possibilities that this amazing game offers.
Obviously, I'm a bit biased having created two threads supporting the same ideals, one about playing StarCraft blind and another asking about the most creative wins people have had. Both yielded the most fun with StarCraft I've had in years.
All I'm saying is don't shoot down an idea before you give it a try. It may seem stupid and meaningless to you now, but in the right environment, with the right people, just about anything can be made to be fun.
