Greeting fellow Team Liquid members!
It has been confirmed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, USA, and others that July 6th will begin the 3 day Eid-al-Fitr festival. (This is basically Christmas for Muslims)

This is a time of celebration and reflection. To my fellow TL Muslim members I say Eid Mubarak!

Why would "basically Christmas" have to be confirmed? Who is confirming and who needs confirmation?

Islamic events follow a lunar calender as opposed to the solar based Gregorian Calender. This means that a new month starts when a new moon is spotted. A lunar month takes either 29 or 30 days. Major organizations do use scientific calculations, but these are still at times coupled with moon sightings etc

That's nothing. Easter takes into account the time of year (equinox), moon phase and day of the week and the pope still manages to forecast it a decade in advance. /jk
