So i got a bit nostalgic recently, decided to check out LotV after playing Dota casually for the past few months, and decided to come back to read more pages from the Great Book on ladder. I know they all missed me....

I quit playing HotS around 2013 in part because i lost the drive to practice seriously, and so i started losing in dumb ways to bad people which made me absolutely furious, and in part because the glorious combination of Swarm Host and Widow Mines made my beloved Templar builds completely obsolete. I really really dislike Colossus builds and i've never been particularly good at them, so that didn't help.
Playing in the deepest of the Dota trenches (for those of you that don't play mobas, that's when your MMR is terrible so you play with people who are completely terrible and the games make no sense whatsoever) was actually a huge help. Stupid as it sounds, i now find the idea of sucking completely (as opposed to moderately like i sucked at SC2) somewhat acceptable...i can any game much less seriously now, and that really really helps in just having fun for the sake of it.
LotV Protoss being pretty fun to play really does help (please Blizzard DONT BUFF THE COLOSSUS I BEG YOU). I still dislike the economy because my shit mines out too fast, and no matter what people say it is NOT like BW, but things like phoenix/adept timings or blink stalker/adept builds are way way more fun than just sitting on your 3bases making colossi and trying to defend an scv pull. I'm not sure how the non Protoss matchups are, but if the Protoss who quit in WoL or HotS should definitely consider coming back, the game is more demanding and fun than ever.
So yeah, i'm back! I'm going to playing more casually than i used to, but my goal is still to try to get back in Master's before the end of the season, The Great Book does need a few new chapters after all....

Nice, I've also recently made my comeback to SC2. Hope you decide to write some books on other races though :>

Are you ever going to release that replay we played on Bridgehead? I still have fond memories of that one particular game.
Perhaps we should duo-cast it.

I wish I could return, but the game is just too horrible for me. I play for one reason; Mech. If it was hard to be done in HOTS, it is impossible to do now. So I had to move back to BW.

Except the one where i was playing a PvP with a teammate, and we both agreed to go Nexus first. The sneaky bastard did go Nexus first, but at my natural. That was also a good game.

I also quit sc2 but that was last summer. I came back in December, so I've got masters 2 seasons in a row. Protoss feels nicer but I don't have much trust in Blizzard with last balance patches.

That's really the only way. Mech is fun and makes for fun games in BW, SC2 it's always been pure cancer. especially for opponents.

I am about to come back to SC2 too after having played most Mobas in my break. I always feel individual impact is limited in those games and I can't stand carry heroes wrecking shit anymore. Back to SC I guess.

Welcome back, I got back to SC2 myself a couple weeks ago.
PS: I don't think they plan on buffing colossus anyway.

Same thing happened to me. LOTV's games are so much more action packed and fun compared to HotS, which I didn't take seriously after putting lots of time into Wings. Really intrigued by it, including the daily automated tournaments etc.
