Monday 10/13:
Just a quick update for today! Recovering from the weekend of craziness is going well! I'm about to knock out one more session before heading out the door for 3 hours of both commuting and rehearsal. Good practice and good deadlifts were done today!
Tuesday 10/14:
In gameplanning and brainstorming for the upcoming 5e campaign, I've decided to fall back on the world created for my IRL group. It's a setting of the Kingkiller Chronicles by Brandon Sanderson with some fantasy races and flavor added to certain countries. I'm hoping that if both groups take off, potentially we might have some IRL and internet collaboration. I'm planning on having the internet group start off in the town that the original group originated from and having them interact with the characters and change the landscape setup by the original party. This interaction could be problematic, but I'm super pumped for the meta implications. It'll help spice up the world because I have a good deal of goings-on elsewhere that the main party hasn't found or isn't particularly interested in.
The morning weigh-in was heartening actually! This weekend's crappy eating didn't effect me too overly much thank goodness! I however and forced to remind myself to keep my eye on the end goal and don't get too wrapped up with daily feedback... I weigh-in every day so that each weigh in matters less...
Okeedoke... how to setup this 5e campaign.... I think I'm going to use chandrian portal for the starter information at least (as I know and am comfortable with the setup of that website), but will gradually transition everything over to roll20 for the actual play. Need to set aside some time to get into the nitty-gritty of map creation and whatnot... I know for certain I'm not going to go nuts with map creation and railroad my group into tiered pre-filled dungeons.... I hate endless meaningless combat with limited player choice and initiative. Therefore, I think making even my pre-fabricated maps look like markings on a Mondomat is going to be the right choice. I don't want to alarm players by shifting to a pre-fab map with backgrounds and furniture. I want to be able to control those choices and flavor them independent of the pre-fab art and models.
Wednesday 10/15:
Today hopefully marks the beginning of a new era... an era in which our dog, Siufu, no longer sleeps on the bed with us. During the day he's and incredibly low-energy, docile dog. He'll sleep the entire day away waking up only for when food is prepared or someone makes a trip outdoors. At night though, when sleeping at our feet or most often curled up against me, he'll stretch out and take the time to lick every extremity of his body clean. At some point at every night's sleep, I'll wake up with him pushing my feet off the bed or pulsating up against my back as he vigorously cleans his paws. Needless to say, it's interrupting a healthy sleep cycle.
This morning was particularly bad and I had a small nuclear meltdown upon waking through a daze of half-sleep sessions. But the product of this meltdown is a nice crate like our friends and dog-sitters have that hopefully will be the new sleeping area for Siufu. If I'm going to lift and eat right, I'm eventually going to need a full and healthy sleep cycle to put on mass, so hopefully establishing these boundaries will help down the line.
With my fuse at a much shorter setting, this morning's rehearsal was not pleasant at all. Playing shit music in an under-airconditioned building is one thing, but doing it with no mental reserves is entirely another. Oh well, glad it's done.
Afternoon and evening were eventful but welcome and relatively focused. The evening rehearsal was challenging after the Press workout. Glad I knocked it out though! Tonight is the moment of truth! Hope the dog enjoys staying in the kennel!
Thursday 10/16:
I'm feeling a bit low these last couple of days regarding my preparation for the audition, but had a nice conversation with the wife about it and rekindled the motivation somewhat. Long rehearsal days do suck the life out of me a bit... Uuuugh... kk, tomorrow is another day. I have a gameplan with the wife to focus on getting 2 20min focus quality sessions in during the afternoons. Just accomplish what you can in the time allotted and the rest will work itself out. Do the best you can and then to heck with it!
Knocked out a strong Squats day today. Felt good to go over the expect 1+ Rep.
Friday 10/17:
Today was a pretty good day! The three performances went pretty well and spaced the work day nicely. The afternoon bore fruitful practice. I cannot complain!
My reward for the fourth month of this blog came today!! I can now play games like Dark Souls and platformers the way they were meant to be played! Yes, I am now the proud member of a 360 controller. Honestly, it feels like a slight step backwards as a gamer getting a console controller, but playing Brothers today convinced me there will always be a place for the controller. Just not in FPS's :-).

Whoops... fucked up and missed the weekend entries. I ahve no real excuse here, it was just a mistake on my part. The days were packed however with music related crap... raah...
