My main reason...Zerg.
I played well over 1000 1v1s, was plat back to gold.
I was toss.
My last match was the last straw:
So I kept the zerg on 3 bases, but stupid mutas kept me contained on 3 bases, so guess what he did? Massed Swarm Hosts and also had hydras/roaches. I cant stand zerg I really cant.
And no, balance changes wont help, the whole game needs a re-design.
I took a 3rd around 10 min. Used DTs to keep preventing his fourth from finishing. Oh but equal bases means I have the advantage???? Yeah right!!!

|
Why would equal bases mean an advantage for you? That train of thought is antique.
AND just the reason Zergs used to hate on toss in a similar way to yours.

How would balance chnages make the game any funner to play? Honestly, each race in sc2 is boring to play.

Play dota2! More fun, many players and no zerg. You can still watch some sc2 but if you're like me, even that will stop soon.. :p

Yeah I hardly watch any pro matches anymore. Each match up became really stale and boring to watch.

why don't you just remove SC2 from the left menu entirely instead of just hiding the topics ?
I know that's what I did with Dota 2

I think it's more likely that you're frustrated or burnt out on the game. Try reinstalling the game after a few weeks, and see if your attitude changes at all.

i can play funstrats at low-mid masters level with any race and the game is hilarious like that.
maybe ur just too bad to enjoy it? Oo

I felt the same over a year ago. It's weird how dota with just 1 map is way more interesting to watch. Might also be attributed to the casters, I was annoyed hearing about "nerd chills", how I should support "ESPORTS" and do this and that. None of these shenanigans exist in the dota scene.
Give it a try. I haven't looked back and even hid SC2 on TL.

no offence but that means shit coming from someone in plat,
why not just try improve your game rather than reiterate what you see other people say?

Then the novelty wore off, the same burnout started happening and now I can't watch DotA matches unless it's a big tournament or a team I like is playing. Same with SC2.
And if you think caster Shenanigans don't exist in DotA, you will be horribly disappointed. DotA casters aren't any better...some are even worse.

Good for you. Personally I enjoy SC2, but I can respect that you don't.
Maybe you should try out BW and see if you like it any better?

@OP if you're frustrated, take a break. try something else. maybe you'll find something else you like to do better (cough dota) or maybe you'll find the game more fun when you get back.
|
I play BW and if I ever get tired of a losing streak I just go play LoL or a bunch of UMS games you could try that

Need to play customs or learn how to beat Zerg rather then give up and complain.

+1 what i was thinking too. or you could even just play zerg

This post I'm writing is coming from a guy who stopped playing SC2 and more recently largely stopped watching SC2 streams and tournaments largely because the game is boring.
None of the game's MU's are significantly imbalanced. It's one of the (very) few redeeming things about the game. It's not perfectly balanced but the game has never been crippled by imbalance. In other words, you weren't good enough to adapt to zergs and you uninstalled SC2 because of your own failing.
As far as I'm concerned, the game is pretty underwhelming anyway and you won't be missing much. But you quit for the wrong reasons.
And yes the game needs a re-design because it needs to be fun, not just balanced.
|
Dont ever think that you have the rights to complain about game balance unless you have reached to top level. The people you are losing to are bad players and could be beaten single handedly by any of the pros who are losing to koreans today.
You lost because you are bad. Lack of practice, unfamiliar with basic RTS concepts, weak in eyes to hand coordination, bad at multitasking which again, all comes back to the lack of practice. You being worse than thousand of other people at this game has nothing to do with bad game design.
Try Broodwar, the legendary RTS that is known for it well balanced if you will. I highly doubt that you would even get a positive win rate after 100 games on iccup let alone talk about ranking. My bet is that you just gona give up after playing 1 game with AI because of the high mechanical skill entry level the game demands. Now with i have said that and you have just read that, may be you gona give it 1 or 2 more tries based on the standard reverse psychology behavior patterns but you, son, YOU gona give up, just like how you have given up at sc2.
1000 games.... rofl. That is like 1 month of practice to any of the high master player, less than what I played during the WoL beta. May be you need an easier game that have others hold your hands and tell you how special you are and all the mistakes were made by your teammates. Yeah you know what im talking about.

Good thing you uninstalled you played 1000 games and weren't masters... I didn't think that was possible.

That's nothing.
There is some guy on ICCup name mishin that averages 2000 ladder games a season on ICCup and is still D+ (probably like diamond or so equivalent). A season is 3 months. He has been at this for over 10 seasons now.

Well when I reached 2000 games I still wasn't masters....... Even though I eventually made it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I thoroughly enjoy the butthurt comments in here. You have to have 9M games during your WoL career to realise how broken zerg was!!1

With this attitude, I am not surprised you are still gold/plat after 1000 games made it to diamond for all 3 races after 500 games max
|
lol, i play 1000 games in 4 months... and i have a fulltime job.
Kas does that in 3 days - ONLY MACROGAMES. if you think this is impossible: Kas can do it.
|
It's really tiresome seeing all the SC2 hate in this forum. The game is still fun for a large portion of the community who still play and watch it. Keep your negative shit to yourselves and stop posting design/entertainment opinions like they're fact.
@OP you quit because you suck. I guess I can see how the game can be boring if you don't make an effort to understand it.

Uh...
That's 333 games a day. Lets use the absurdly generous 10 min per game. That is still 3330 minutes per day. 24*60 is 1440. Seems like a problem...

I uninstalled BW in 1999.
Quiting the game, ladder anxiety is so funny to me, people need to stop giving so many fucks about this game, and just learn to enjoy it.
|
PvZ made me change races until I realized I just needed to work out the kinks. Six months later, after learning T and mixing in a little Z, it's my best matchup.
Just work harder, no one has ever gotten good at something by quitting.
|
how can you keep him from taking more bases if he got you contained to your base with mutas?
|
Rage uninstall, what a huge problem to have.....
|
Well, I do find zerg to be the most fun race. What I might do is, take a break and then come back and main zerg.
|
I would recommend reinstalling and playing a different race. There is nothing good about protoss, nothing good at all. Terrans and zergs both hate protoss with the burning passion of a thousand suns, hell I dont even think that protosses like protoss.
|
try spending less time in the game and more time watching replays/builds
My problem is that spent more time outside the game than laddering lol. I have about ~80 ladder games total and I managed to get into top masters as terran
|
I had this problem also once upon a time, your mind is too strict. Learn to just play using dumb tricky tactics. Your chances of winning will increase and the game will be more fun.
|
Do random shit like mass high templars it'll be pretty fun c:
|
no offence if youre under diamond and your frustrated at the game because of "balance"
youre not playing it right. quitting will just make you worse.
#cooltip
|
Pretty sure I saw Dragon go 5 CC before rax and beat a Protoss. Try Terran?
|
^^ Very true
This is the common mindset you have in most games. In LoL people are like "if my allies werent so bad I could be diamond by now" in SC2 people are like "if this fucking unit/race/w.e wasnt so ___ I'd be Masters/GM by now"
but in all honesty its your skill level, its not the game.
I can virtually do any build vs a Diamond and below and win the game easily. You think you have an understanding of the game.
You don't. Back to the drawing board.
|
switch to dota2 and see how many friends you've got who play. It'll probably be a lot more fun. Personally I got bored of sc2 and stopped playing because I found the game stale. I was masters in season 1 in wings and kept that up till the point where I stopped playing. People telling you you don't enjoy the game because you aren't good enough at it are pretty silly.
