Daily Ladder-age #27: Mismicro and Lag

The gaaaaaaaaaaaame is a PvT startin up on the map Derelict Watchtower~. I go around and scout as usual, seeing the 1 fast gas I decide to just go and get a stalker/MSC out AFAP as usual.


Lets see, what could the terran be doing... I guess REAPER EXPANDA.

So with my psychic skill I was correct on that a reaper would come in... However, the terran's follow up wasn't quite an expansion.... by the looks of it, it seems like the terran was going for a widowmine drop. However, hilariously, I managed to get a pylon inside his base. And, thinking that he went for an expansion AFAP, I went for 3 fast gateways.


Scout much?

To be fair... that attack went horribly. I got zoned out to a corner by the widowmine, then the battle SCVs got a great surround on my stalkers. I managed to kill off a couple workers, but not nearly enough. It did help to delay the widow mine drop though.


Held off EZPZ.

And during the normal macro/teching phase that I encounter, I make what I consider to be the folly of this game. I decide to just get some HT and go for a fast win. Why did I do this? I don't know. I made a robotics bay to make colossi, but I think that scouting the fast viking made me think he'd be making lots of vikings, which really is annoying if I go for fast colossi. So I go for fast storm tech...


I mean, I guess fast storm could work... defensively.

I finish up storm ASAP and go in for an attack at 14:20 ish. Now, right as the attack commenced, the enemy almost disconnected... I'll use that as one excuse. The very slight lag and breif disconnection felt like it really messed up the outcome of the battle. However, other than that, I still have quite a few problems.


Before the attack.

Mistake #1- Attacking a bunker, many marauders, hellbats, and siege tank with the only high tech being storm (not very good vs marauders/hell bat).
Mistake #2- Zealots in the back. Seriuosly why the hell am I still making these sorts of mistakes.
Mistake #3- Lingering. Had I left immediately after I hit my storms (when I was obviously behind) I still could have escaped without too much of a supply gap. However, mostly due to the brief disconnect, I moved my units back way too late and lost them all.


The attack. Oh gawd why.

Aaand so I lose everything and he comes in and rolls me.
