Liquid In China

Hey everyone, in the absence of anyone doing media coverage, I decided to take a lot of pictures and video footage for you guys to see.

I'm going to keep it short and sweet, though I have a goldmine of quotes, photos and video. When I get back I'll do some uploads because it's pretty hard to get around the Great Firewall of China.

Room setup (for those interested): FLUFF + TC, Mike + Sam, Korok (Lone wolf, though later joined by TL's Flamewheel)

This is Carson, our translator and helpful guide! Everyone loves him, he's super awesome and friendly:

His hotel room number was 9-11, ominously and morbidly funny (at least to me).

The Arrival:

Here's a picture of ixmike after a super long 23 hour day (The very first good chair):

Upon arriving at the hotel, we noticed this super awkward bathroom setup (Later figured out that there was a blind): [image loading]

We went out for a late night snack on some restaurant district in Shanghai (Only notable food item was dumplings): [image loading]

*Bulba is a vegetarian and is having the worst time ever finding food - more about this later*

Day 1:

We decided to take a walk around and visit a convenience store for some snacks and drinks.

Mike's first interaction with a local, the cashier-woman initiated with Chinese - Mike was confused. Korok promptly tells her, in Chinese (yeah he speaks a little), that he doesn't speak: [image loading]

Lunch:

We met up with Alliance and our very cool translator and friend Carson to get some lunch.

Going out for breakfast with Alliance, they wanted McDonald's haha. Korok decided that we should eat something more Asian so we left them there:

Carson is taking 5 simultaneous orders for us at this Chinese noodle place (poor guy) -- We all got some chicken curry or beef noodles with a mango drink, being a noob asian I didn't take a picture of it immediately (forgive me):

We watched a bunch of replays setup on an HDMI cord and monitor. We really want to visit the Dota Super League studio to watch LGD.int play Rattlesnake. Carson tells us that we can go later and that G-1 wanted to interview TC, as well as the other carry players (Loda, Mushi, and Burning).

Quick story: Blame TC for this by the way, he didn't record the footage of me awkwardly pointing at Burning (him noticing in the periphery) and telling Carson to tell him that he's my favorite player. Burning kept looking at me because I kept saying his name and subtlety pointing at him like a zoo animal. Carson was messing with me acting like he didn't know what I was saying so I told TC to redo the video and he failed to press the record button! What a shame, what a shame. At least I professed my fandom to Burning. My two favorite players TC and Burning!

Ironically he steps into the cab as well (they almost killed a biker on the way there apparently, at least that's what Akke told me) -- We can also afford to lose an Indian:

Arrived at the location and was met by Helen (I took video footage but I can't upload it so we just get some blurry shots):

We were late and game one finished, LGD.int came outside to say hi and also to get some fresh air (I took video footage again, this has to wait for me to come back home to upload):

Okay well the rest of the footage is Video, and there's a good amount of it. I'm probably going to make a little video when I come back in my free time. This trip has been completely hilarious and awesome so far. I'll try to take some pictures but it will eventually slow down due to having to compete and all.
