I feel like Stork about doing this blog, but I got into this mobile game called Blood Brothers. I'm playing it on android but there's an iOS version too. For those unaware what the game is about, its basically the closest thing to Pokemon that you can play on your smartphone (aside from actually playing Pokemon via emulator). At the start you pick up a hero, there are 8 to choose from each with unique skill and favoring one of the core stats - strenght, health , defense, wisdom and agility. After that you get involved in a cheesy RPG type of campaign where you are rebelling against an evil dynasty king. The actual gameplay is turn-based. Quite similar to Heroes, but in Blood Brothers you have energy that eventually runs out and you have to wait a bit till it recharges. While playing you get to defeat various creates that you can catch after beating - like in pokemon. There are a lot of creatures with different stats and skills. In the game they are called familiars. So as you progress in the game, you get to build up a party of your hero and the familiars you find.
The game follows a freemium type of model. The familiars are split into different categories - Common, Uncommon, Rare , Epic and Legendary. Normally the Legendary familiars could be won only by placing top 100 in WoW type of events that happen every week. There are various items you can buy for money, replenishing your energy so you can keep playing, without waiting for your energy to recharge. Placing high in events is next to impossible, cause many guys are buying those items, but still with hard work its possible to build up a really decent party w/o spending any money.
The game is quite imbalanced but still a lot of fun, especially if you get to play it with someone else. So I wanted to know if there are any TLers playing this crap too. I recently found that the game has an active community and a wiki : http://bloodbrothersgame.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Brothers_Wiki

I actually tried playing it but alas, wasn't too interested.

Do people with Androids and IPhone's play on the same server?

The concept is pretty cool. Honestly I'm hoping Blizzard's Hearthstone comes to android as I'm pretty sure it will destroy all these mobile card battle type games.

Oh hey, someone made a blog asking about cost-benefit of different hero rarity levels recently I think.
It looks alright but I have still yet to find a freemium game I've enjoyed playing, for some reason.

Horde the horns and mandrake when you start. Anyone that is just joining should rush for the towers. You get an epic monster for 20000 points(just realized it's just for the duration of the powers ). With your starting mandrake, you can get something good from the balaazar, sDamn you discipline for getting me into this .

I'm a non paying player, and it's damn addicting even though I know to get to the top you need to pay. The matchmaking system in pvp hasn't screwed me too much yet (no full tier 1 teams or multiple Ls). It's fun just to slowly build up your team, I think raids are probably the best bet for starting players as you can score an event fam without having a kick ass team if you tag bosses correctly, or get lucky with the event elite fams to fill out your team.
Playing the bazaar is also super fun, it's a dumbed down version of the PoE economy. Keeps things interesting once your energy runs out. I know a lot of people dislike the energy/time system for apps but I don't mind it as I can hop on and expend all the energy at breaks during work haha. Keeps me from being too distracted. Definitely recommend this app to those who like the Pokemon type of games.
Add me if anyone looking for a natural regen event ally or new players want a few fams to start them off: 7rGZuK
