Translate everything Sven says into 'You'll probably end up dead'.

For example:

'It's a reasonable assumption that the guy you shot someone in front of doesn't want to work with you' means 'You'll probably end up dead'
'The worm monster bursts through the window' means 'You'll probably end up dead'
'The ice-cream is chocolate flavour' means 'You'll probably end up dead'

Ok so I just checked and turns out I suck at timezones and 1500 CEST is 600 PST not 700, so I'll likely be 30 minutes late. I'll just like skip the morning shower or something so I won't be an hour late again.

That assumption is very correct -_- waited 45 minutes for it to come back, nope. Sorry guys I'll be there next week no problem. I would have been more of a hindrance than a help in any operation however, and I would love a summary write-up.

Ah yes, my ingenious solution of just starting in the middle of the two possible times! I'll get around to writing stuff later today/tomorrow, still at university. ~.~
Maybe Sven hsa even decided on how to mod the combat mechanics to fix imba dodge/useless appearance.

Aha! I found what i missed. "A character attempting Dodge in a combat round may also parry, but not attack." With one sentence this makes dodge more reasonable, and also suddenly makes parry useful because you CAN parry and attack in the same round (though of course not everything can be parried). You still have to declare a parry before something hits you. You can parry with rifles, but not attack on the same turn. You might have noticed that weapon HP. They can break if you parry with them too much

Some additional things i noticed:

Readied guns go before melee, always. If you gun has two shots, the second shot goes in dex order with melees. If it has three shots, that third shot is in dex order afterwards. We so far kind of haven't really been using guns with multiple shots/round (Though Mr. Daniels could empty his double barreled in one round if he wants to. This is how i pretty much handled things anyways if you were for example aiming your guns at some place and cultists storm in from there.

Considering how granular most combat skills are, i'd say that a large Battle/Lumber Axe and something like a Hatchet would be two different skills.

Critical hits on 1-5% are and optional rule, do you want to keep those?

Impales on the other hand, which are below 1/5th of you skill, only work with specific weapons. Namely pointy ones. And they mean that the weapon is stuck in the enemy and you have to pull it out with a check next round.

I'd like to change it so Point Blank fire only works if the enemy is not currently fighting you or someone you don't want to hit.

I have found nothing about firing into melee. My idea would be that if someone is in melee with someone else, and you try to hit one of them, if you miss you hit the other guy. If there is more then one guy involved in that brawl, you hit a random one of them. Note that i will not allow you to game this by firing at your friend if you are below 50% skill.

Regarding what happened this session, i was contemplating the idea of having a short Play-By-PM thingy during this week regarding what happened to Yaleesha if you are interested. But i have to think how i can get that into the plan i am currently making. If we do this, i think it would be fun if you first found out some of what happened through the newspapers.

There are different parts of the past. Not all of the past is the same. Vikings are about 9th century. French "The Three Musketeers" type guys are ~18th century. We are playing in 1925, which notably is neither in the 9th century nor in the 18th.

So, how does one parry? Is it another skill you'd have to take or does it key off of your weapon skill (that'd make sense for melee weapons in my opnion, maybe adding penalties for certain kinds of weapons)?

Yeah, parry is another skill. And you just can't parry with a lot of weapons, like giant maces. However, there isn't really a downside to trying to parry IF your are fighting in melee, so you should eventually learn that if you fight people a lot, which makes sense.

I thought I'd put my confused note on what Faraz said here since dismiss left and HystericalLaughter seemed to drop from the call (?).

Faraz Najir – curiose dealings with Carlyle. Thinks he was burned by the cultists. Aquired items related to a 3d dynasty pharaoh, the black pharaoh. A bust of said black pharao, a small drum with symbols, scroll with hieroglyphs detailing a secret room in the pyramid of the black pharaoh, and a circlet of the black pharaoh – “the key to life”. Sold the items to Warren Besart who was an agent of Carlyle. The items were stolen for Faraz by a “friend” from some cotton plantation near Gezira Mohammed. Black brotherhood wants an item from the mosque of Ibn Tulun. Mummy got stolen FROM the Clive expedition? Brotherhood is involved? Owner of the other stolen items was a priest of the Brotherhood, named Omar Shakti.

We could try to decide on our next course of action in here as well. We will probably want to check out whatever is in that mosque, maybe a task for our typically normal every day egyptian man, and actually, we could probably put Yaleesha in a veil or burqa and have her do a lot of sneaking too.

I guess there's nothing stopping us from putting the entire party in Burqas if we want to. ^^
