As for plans of action, Yaleesha visiting the mosque with the definitely-Egyptian-and-not-Russian Ivan sounds like a good idea, do we not know which item specifically they are after? And maybe we can talk to Faraz's friend on the plantation.

I think surveiling Omar Shakti and eventually taking him out seems to be fairly high on the priority list as well, he appears to be a major player in this. Maybe we should attempt to enlist the 5th floor thugs or at least obtain information from then.

And yeah, we'll have to do something about Omar. Would it be a good idea to try to save him to be the last thing we do in Egypt, so that we don't have to skip on any other stuff before we leave the country in a hurry? Just in case things go horribly wrong again...

We may not be safe, even before doing anything conspicuous. Thoughts?

Regarding Omar, I just don't want to kill him and end up on a bunch of wanted posters while we still have business in Cairo. He is going to be one of those magic wielding fellows, probably pretty hard to get to even from the start if he has his own cotton plantation. Letter bombs have been our only way of anonymously killing people so far, and that has been proven unreliable even when sent to a single person household, so what other methods of killing him do we have? If he is rich enough to have a car, and drives it himself, I guess Magnus and George could partner up and rig a car bomb? Otherwise it might come down to us getting up close and personal somehow. To have the opportunity to dig through his posessions for clues and artifacts would be nice. To rob him of that black pharao sarcophagus and then taking turns punching and kicking it for all the trouble that dude has been causing even after his death would be cathartic as well. Either way, I think we should explore our exit strategies before taking him on. We need to find an Egyptian Brookwood we can have on stand-by.

"Many names, many faces, but all the same and all toward one end. Too big, too ghastly. They'll open the gate. Why?...So the power and the danger is real" "Been to china, africa, london stop Seen unbelievable things stop A monsterous conspiracy stop there is a time table stop." Forming a small cult terminator squad and indiscriminatingly hunting for every cultist you hear of is probably neither promising success nor going far towards thwarting the Crawling Chaos's machinations. It is also not something you are very likely to survive for a long period of time, or even long enough to see the dreadful horrors that your failure to prevent them brought upon the unsuspecting world.

Look, one of Lovecrafts' postulates was that humanity had absolutely no control over it's own destiny, and that the only reason we still exist was that no god (bar Nyarlethotep and Cthulhu) gave two shits about humanity. So lets play nice as long as possible huh!?

Sure, the goal isn't to kill every single cultist, but because we don't have their end goal puzzled out, directly stopping each branch seems like a good secondary option where possible, while we still try to figure out the important end game bits. By killing evil cultists, at least of the London and New York branches, we save innocent lives too, and even if that ends up being only a short term positve, it's still a positive in Bartholomew's book. Maybe the cultist's end goal is some sort of super duper ritual to revive the black pharao and/or open some gate, with key artifacts and capable priests in the right places at the right time, in which case killing them off and/or stealing their shit seems reasonable as well. Speaking of which, that sarcophagus could be the most important artifact we've come across so far. So we have a bunch of stuff we could try to make a plan around. Here's my suggested order of things, each step probably needs more discussion though... 1. Escape route. 2. The Clive expedition - Find them and question them about the sarcophagus theft. This could lead to valuable information on the dark brotherhood and the black pharao himself. How did they steal the sarcophagus? Did they find the secret room in the pyramid or do we have to? We might have to be careful about some questions though, since they were funded by Gavigan's gang, and there could be one or several cultists among them. Maybe rivals to the dark brotherhood like the spice merchant to Gavigan, maybe in cahoots with them. This is high on the list simply because it shouldn't be too difficult. 3. Mosque Ibn Tulun - Find out what object the cultists are looking for here, through some sort of visit. Stealing the object before the cultists do, if that's even what they're going to do, could be hard and risky, alerting everyone that something is up. We could set up surveillance and try to catch them in the act, then intervene or just observe to find out where they might be keeping other artifacts, such as the sarcophagus. We don't know when they're going in though... 4. Omar Shakti - Possibly in posession of the sarcophagus and other artifacts. I'm assuming he's an all around evil guy. If he dies I'd be happy, but I definitely want his artifacts and further clues. A visit to his plantation, violent or not, seems unavoidable. 5. The sarcophagus of the black pharao - I'm starting to feel like aquiring it is a must, or at the very least we need to take it out of the hands of the brotherhood. If we get it, do we hide it? Ship it off to a museum? Return it to the Clive expedition? Simply destroying it seems very permanent, and since we don't have all the information, a bit risky. 6. Flee to China! Thoughts?

Edit: Actually I take that back, we're probably on a timer with that artifact at the mosque.

Basically, i like to from time to time play something different. This does not mean stopping the current campaign in any way, but i don't want the campaign to feel restrictive in a way that suggest that we HAVE to finish it before doing anything else. I think some of you also feel like this. So basically, i propose that from time to time, definitively not every week, but when someone (who does not need to be me) comes up with something they would like to play, we just have a oneshot on the side. Don't get this wrong, i greatly enjoy our current campaign, and this is not me getting burned out on CoC. But there is so much different shiny stuff, and i don't want the campaign to feel like a chore that needs to be finished before ever doing something else. This should probably be restricted to Oneshots, because otherwise we just get a mess of different campaigns which we will never, ever finish and everything gets silly. What prompted this was me randomly finding http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/121027/Pandemonio and really wanting to try it out. If someone has an idea or just wants to try being the DM for once, this would also make this a lot easier. From our discussion, everyone seemed to think that this is a good idea, but since not everyone was there and i don't want anyone feeling left out, what do you guys think about this? As a side topic, since this also came up, what are your thoughts on playing over the holidays? I will probably be at my parents, but that does not mean that i will be completely unable to play. I don't have my travel planned exactly yet, so i might be on the train on the 22nd. 29th and 5th should be days which i can play on, but i am not 100% sure about this at this point. Which days do you/don't you want to play on during the holidays?
