I think showing the screen with the procedure steps all revealed at 1:03 makes the plot twist a bit too obvious. Even without that the viewer can guess whats going to happen based on the fact that an AI like the one portraited in the movie wouldn't take so long to kill him after initializing the killing protocol and just be done with it and based on the fact that the protagonist says there is nothing on the ship computer. Obviously he wouldn't reveal it anyways but the viewer gets to know that there is an apparently intact ship computer and its not too far fetched to then assume that the AI didnt find anything about it in there and now has to resort to this more human approach of getting information. So in my humble opinion it could create more suspense if the screen only showed the steps up to the current ones and not all and please take it as a compliment that I took such a minor point to criticize

What, you did this on your 1st year? How's that even possible? Anyway, very nice job, keep working, keep getting better mate! xD
wow, that's incredible for a project, good job! How long did it take you? Did you use open source models or did you produce everything from scratch? You definitely should apply to do cinematic for Blizzard.
Love the setting and design. You're really talented I'm always jealous of people with such artistic skills and the patience to create this kind of stuff but also incredibly grateful!
let me express you my sincere appreciation. impressive for a one man band, good camera, good rendering. Im not too much a fan of the plot but this might be subjective, still clear and unfolds well.
Holy check this was godlike. I especially like the touch of the dried up river (maybe only me? ) in the city. What with the plot end open ending this could be a really good game trailer.
Okay, many things were good, but many things can also be improved on. This being a one man project makes this much more impressive. I'll be blunt and say it; the audio wasn't that great. Don't worry, the voice acting was awesome. It's just that I could think of so many audio effects to put on different scenes to make them like at least 2 times better. I'll take the most obvious example; when the guy ripped the robots head off. That scene was supposed to be dramatic and all but it was totally quiet. The entire turning point was let down by the audio. If you were to add loud metal scraping noises, cables snapping, the robot trying to say something and is cut off, and so forth, this scene would've been so much better. See this as constructive criticism! The movie was awesome and you should really make some more. Just don't focus only on the visuals! Good luck!
Wow, great animation, like Hollywood quality. I'm very impressed. The storyline seems interesting too. The only constructive criticism I would offer is to hire a professional writer. Is English your second language? If so, bravo. I think you could sell this project, as long as there's a decent plot with character development.
I always wonder what these incredibly sculptured short films end up doing for a person's life. I'd imagine a great job is all but secured for someone which such amazing directorial talent.
Looking forward to your next work. Make sure you keep us posted on your ascent to the top ^^
Great job! I think some people are nitpicking too much over sound and script, since you did it all yourself and when you start working somewhere, you're not going to have to do everything yourself.
I've taken a couple of courses on 3D software, enough to know the huge amount of effort it takes to make even the simplest animation. I am blown away with what you have done here. I can't even begin to fathom how it was possible for one person to do this.
Very impressive lighting, rendering and particularly modelling was gob smackingly well done
That said, animation is the weakest part of the film Initially there isn't much need for anything beyond head movement and facial animation was good But when he escapes the animation seems very rushed and just off. It has no impact, weight, effort (on the characters part) One example is when he pulls the robots face off It appears as though no effort is expended and the whole sequence is awkward
Thank you all a lot what a response. Yes, it´s not my mothertounge, I´m German actually. I am currently gathering all my ideas around this universe and story. Stay tuned on kaleblechowski.tumblr.com or facebook.com/rha.movie if you´re interested! all the best and thanks again, Kaleb
I saw your video on reddit and that you are going to hollywood. If its true congratz Looked really really nice but why do the good guys always fall for the same trick? :<
Very impressive. I like the "flow" of the alien animation. The spaceship design also fits very well. I love the little details like the flightsuit/armor, animation of the helm ect.
Thanks Thank you Shazeen :D I really worked on that helmet, but I didn´t just want to show off, so due to a better camera position, it´s more or less hidden.
How long did this take? It is really, really, well done. I would love to see a full movie of this. I see where you pulled off of Portal(robot), Star Craft (banshees, a wraith-like ship as well), and at one point it looked like a Star Wars ship disappearing into the stars.
Incredible, this must have been a ton of work ! The lighting, texture and mood are top notch. Pretty cool that you're a TL'er to boot! Although I should have guessed
Probably the biggest online news portal in Germany Spiegel Online has also an an article about R'ha and how it was made. He even made it to the frontpage. Unfortunately it's only available in german right now.
